@FullbringIchigo Later models of the normal PS4 (ie not the the slim and pro) have physical on/off and eject buttons. They still do not stand out enough for me and feel a bit flimsy.

I can't see Sony going back to the ps1 design after many years of black oblong-ish designs.

@Kindaichi i exoext a minimalist design as well. I doubt there will be top ventilation as well as so y systems have never had it.

Slim, quiet, reliable, understated good looks and likes long walks on the beach. Wait, what were we discussing? 🤣

I'm interested in the controller design. I feel like it's pretty much a perfect design, ergonomically but they keep updating it incrementally. I have a feeling it might get a little capacitive touchscreen. Better battery life wouldn't go amiss!

@Frigate is that your tinder profile? 😂

@JohnnyShoulder Got my tabs mixed up, now my profile says I'm black, angular and has physical buttons and quiet slot.

Thinking about it, I'd love to see Sony do something a little out of the box for them, or at least a couple of concepts to gauge interest.

A plain plastic box for all i care. I hardly ever look at my console. As long as there's no annoying lights on it.

I know some don't care about looks but a good design helps with a first impression. People popped at the og ps4 design and people were impressed with how switch looked when revealed.

@WebHead It absolutely does. Nobody likes to admit it but we're vain and looks matter.

@Frigate a lot of people made fun of the og xbone for looking like a vcr box and felt Wii U looked too much like Wii.

@WebHead @Frigate It matters, but for me it is pretty low down on the list. If both consoles were tied on everything, you would naturally go for the black box which you are attracted to the most.

The OG XBO design was horrible. Ditto the PS4 pro.

I wonder if the core system could based on flash and you could have an option to slot in a hard disk drive like a giant memory card. It certainly will be nice to have a bit of flash so you don’t have to reinstall your operating system when you change the hard disk.

@JohnnyShoulder I like the Ps4 Pro design. It's a Ps4 with another slice of Ps4.

@WebHead I think the wii u controller looked like a leap pad for kids. It was a really bad design imo.

@seanobi My console has no lights and looks cool. Looks in the mirror with the VR over my head looking like a knockoff Cique de solei Comedy club light show act.

White or (original PlayStation's) grey, sleek but a little bit more whimsical than ps4.

Never belligerent but always uncompromising.

@Feena Whilst I'm pretty sure that black is here to stay, I'd love the PlayStation5 to look more like a PSone than any other previous console. Especially if the rumours of the next generation being the last "traditional" console generation prove to be true. Would make the PlayStation legacy a nice, neat circle.

Id kinda like a gray or two tone look. All black is getting kind of boring.

While I probably won't be buying one - I think the base PS4 design is spot on. So nothing too far from that. The PS4 Slim and the Pro are well butters!

Also, I would like the DualShock4 to continue through to PS5. Improve internals on new units (battery etc) but keep the deign the same. It's nice, it works and would represent a huge saving for Sony and for consumers.
Also, the optics to be able to say 'there was no reason to redesign and charge more again for a new controller' would be pretty good.

I imagine PS5 will stay within the size range of tge PS4 family. Probably larger than a slim but smaller than a pro.
