@JohnnyShoulder I would. At the end of the day, if the specs alone justify a cost of £500, let alone any games in a bundle, then I would buy. I can't understand the mentality that has a £400 price and yet want a console that competes or even beats a PC that costs a lot more than £1k without a 4k Bluray player or controller included in the price. The only thing I would begrudge paying 'extra' for id Backwards Compatibility as I already have bought a Pro (and base PS4) to play PS4 games and don't need to pay to keep playing them as I will still have my Pro. I want my money to be going to making the PS5 as powerful as it can be - if it then runs PS4 games great, if not no problems. I don't know how BC will work, whether its built in at a software level then fine, if its like the Day 1 PS3 where they built in the PS2 chip just for BC which added to the cost, then I won't be happy to pay £500 for the console.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
Yeah that is kinda my thinking. I know some people were expecting the PS4 and XBO to be 4k and 60fps machines for around the 500 quid mark. I don't what planet they are from! 😂

@JohnnyShoulder it really depends on the game(s). I got my PS4 Summer 2015, I was going to wait another six months to a year (backlog of PS3 games, also waiting for the right bundle deal to come along etc) but I HAD to play Arkham Knight so I caved in.
Really hoping that the first year releases are awful, haha.
@BowTiesAreCool I might wait 6 months or so they can iron all the kinks out. My main grumble with my ps4 is how loud it can get, but then my dad's which is a later base model is almost silent. I imagine with the PS5 having a SSD this will no longer be an issue.

@Frigate Yeah I agree. I know some people begrudge spending a substantial amount on tech, I was the same when I had less disposable income. But these days I don't mind spending a bit more to get some thing of a higher quality. If I think how many hours I play on my ps4 (roughly 20 - 25 hours in a normal working week), I don't mind paying more for a PS5. I would be very surprised it comes under 500 quid.

@JohnnyShoulder actually I can live without the microphone. But everything I have heard so far like the wireless VR, no loading, 4k standard, 4k Blu Ray player, power of the cpu etc. Its gonna be great. We are all big gamers here so this is the first time since the Gamecube I'm getting a console day 1. Let's go!!!
@themcnoisy I moved our discussion here, cos you know you were spamming the PS4 section. Apart from the wireless VR (which is only a patent so there’s no guarantee that it will be turned into a final product, even if the idea of a new headset does seem inevitable.)we pretty much knew all of that anyway. Did you not pay any attention to the earlier announcement, or have you been playing Dreams for that long?
@philip_austin Realistically it will most likely be at least that price but with no games. With games costing 60 quid on release this gen and the tech in the consoles, I think it is unrealistic to expect it cost much less or for a few games to be thrown in.
