@BearsEatBeets It would make a top 10 for sure but not my 5.

The Witcher 3 - Simply one of my favourite games of all time. A great cast and story and solid but frustrating combat. The DLC alone is better than most complete releases.

God of War - Another fantastic story and really tight combat. The “one shot” style is amazingly well done too. Also a perfect game for newcomers to the series and veterans alike.

Yakuza 0 - What a first experience for the series! Another fantastic storyline, excellent cast, plus all the bonkers sub quests that makes the Yakuza series.

Hollow Knight - One that surprised me how much I enjoyed it. Such a beautiful and intriguing world. The combat and platforming is executed brilliantly and there areas to really challenge those who fancy it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - A technical marvel that has been divisive for some. Personally, I loved the slow pace and the option to do whatever you goddamn wanted; there were plenty of sessions where I would just go hunting and still enjoyed myself more than in a lot of games. What a great antihero protagonist too.

This is a tough one with so many great games, let's see

Doom, I'd pretty much fallen out of love with FPS games for about a decade as they focused too much on being military shooters or put all of their effort into the online and then bang, back comes Doom to remind me why I liked these games to begin with.

Witcher 3, simply the best story in any game I've played including your influence on it and one of the best mini games ever in Gwent.

Resident Evil 2, a fantastic return to form and a brilliant survival horror experience with a truly terrifying enemy in Mr X

Horizon Zero Dawn, a great story coupled with the best open world combat yet

Yakuza 6 (or 0) tough to split them but every so often Sega pops up to remind us why they are one of the all time greats. A relatively small open world that feels much bigger than most due to the sheer density that is on offer. Great stories, coupled with a modern version of classic beat em up games and including the likes of Outrun, Puyo Puyo and Virtua Fighter 5, all great games in their own rights

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

@stuzster I definitely would advocate giving it another go if you like the first RDR. It’s a less focused game, in the sense that the opportunities for distraction within the game are huge and it is easy to spend hours not “making progress” but once you get into a rhythm, it is a marvel to behold, like @Thrillho says. I was annoyed at the glacial pace for a while, and the end of the game I felt dragged several hours too long, but when I finished it and reminisce back on the game it’s just an amazing experience. It deserves all the accolades it receives.
