Topic: Will my progress be deleted when going from disc to download?

I played HZD with a physical game edition (disc), I then sold it because I thought they weren't going to make any DLC's.

Then Frozen wilds were on offer and I thought I'd get it and play it one day I got the game again.

Now the game is on offer (and a pretty good one) on the PS Store, my question is: will I be able to play the frozen wilds, will my progress from when I played with a disc be saved, do I have to delete my saved data etc before downloading from PS Store?

@arsenio3d If you look in Storage you can see you have apps (games) and save files. As long as you have a save file for horizon just download the game and continue were you left last time.

This is a bit of a grey area as some GOTY editions let you carry your save files over and some don't.

Looking at that topic on Reddit, it doesn't look like you can for HZD.
I'm in a similar situation but will most buy it again 2nd hand and buy the dlc from the store. But i have loads of credit at CEX so i don't mind doing that.

@JohnnyShoulder As long as the goty edition download is the same region as your initial playthrough you should be able to continue. Guerilla posted on social media.

@arsenio3d Also do not delete any saved data. That will 100% stop you from continuing.

Interesting point though, I never knew Witcher 3 had this issue with its goty edition. Ive always found it strange that Im occasionally blocked from buying different versions of games on the psn store so its a deeper question than I first thought.

@themcnoisy i realise Guerilla said that but someone else further down said they tried that and it didn't work.

Had the same problem with one of the Batman games, had to play through half the game again.
On the plus side it means you get two sets of trophies.

@themcnoisy So you can't use your save file if you upgrade to the physical Witcher 3 GOTY edition? I've been toying with getting it but I sure as heck don't have a spare seven zillion hours to play through the main game again.

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@themcnoisy Nice one, you've saved me from buying an expensive Geralt-themed drinks coaster.

On PS4 there's no issue, but on Vita the download and save data are one-in-the-same. Since you're talking about the PS4 I think it's safe to say you'll be able to continue from your last save point.
