Topic: Which game do you think I should buy?

Hi guys, I've fancied both remastered for a while, I was wondering if I could get some opinions. Which game should I buy out of Saints Row IV Re-Elected & Gat Out Of Hell or Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition. If I go Saints Row, then it has similarities to Mafia 3 and Watch Dogs 2, which I'll be getting, but I feel like I fancy it more, but then Darksiders would be a fresher choice. Which should I go for? Or should I wait for Doom to go down in price?

Thanks,

@SPGFan34: Knowing how the forums generally work, be prepared for this thread to be closed and redirected to https://www.pushsquare.com/forums/ps4/ps4_recommendation_thread to ask his question.

Personally I think SR went downhill after SR2 and I really wouldn't recommend SR4 to anyone - especially not those over 21. In trying to distance itself from GTA, the franchise has become more 'ridiculous'. If you immature humour, dubstep etc and want to be a super hero - play SR4. Darksiders 2 is a hack and slash RPG with a few puzzle elements - its probably the much deeper and more interesting game and if I had to pick between those 2, I would go for DS2

Personally though I would wait for Doom to drop to a level you feel comfortable to pay. I wasn't interested in the MP and didn't like the beta but with Snapmap, the community can create more than just MP maps which could be fun I guess. The Campain though is supposed to be good and recaptures the essence of the original. I too am waiting for the right price for me as I only want 'half' the game...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

Okay, thank you, yeah this is the first thread, so i'm sorry if i've done the wrong thing haha

Okay, well i think Doom is the one to go for. I have played the free Demo this week and i have really enjoyed it, i'm not usually into shooters or multiplayer but i have played the campaign demo a few times and i have improved on my skills and i have been enjoying it. I think i will go with patience though, as i would only play the campaign mode as i'm not interested in multiplayer games. However, i can always do a few playthroughs of the campaign. I would probably feel comfortable paying £20 for DOOM.

However, i have always wanted to play Saints Row and Darksiders (Darksiders especially, as it looks to capture some essence of the Zelda games) and so i will hopefully get them eventually.

@SPGFan34: I know that threads such as this would and normally are shut down and redirected to the thread I linked above. Its the place to ask about which games others would recommend as much as which ones you yourself recommend.

Saints Row 2 was my favourite of the franchise but 3 and especially 4 went to far OTT and ruined the franchise for me. I think they took offence at the GTA comparisons and tried to be totally ridiculous as a result - maybe I am just to old to appreciate these now at 44. Darksiders has more in common with Dark Souls in my opinion - it doesn't have the same difficulty curve though so from that perspective its far more 'accessible'. Doom has a lot of 'secrets' in each level and so would offer the replayability factor. The snapmap function allows users to create their own 'games' too - not just MP maps. I saw one that had a timed platform race, horde style modes, mini campaign type levels so its not just competitive MP maps which you could find extra mileage from. Best thing I can suggest though is do your own research - watch videos/reviews on youtube because you will undoubtedly get a lot of different answers and reasons why you should buy one over another but only you can decide which game and style you prefer to play. What I like is likely to be different to you and that goes for everyone here. You can't turn round to someone and say their 'recommendation' is awful if they prefer a different game to you. By watching videos and reviews, you may see something that particularly appeals (or puts you off) and can give you a better idea of what each game offers - which may help make your mind up and put a better idea of 'price' point you are willing to pay for something. Like I said Doom has more to it than just straight up MP and Campaign that may influence your decision and the price you are willing to pay.

Yeah, well okay. I have actually seen quite a lot of unboxings and gameplay for the saints row iv package and i quite fancy it personally and that could be that i'm more of the target audience as i'm only 17 but then i've got loads of games with similarities to it also coming up soon.

As for Darksiders, i have seen a lot of coverage on that and i personally really fancy it, and the price point is excellent as it is recent (remaster was released in october 2015) and it comes with all the DLC included.

Doom i really fancy, and i think i can overcome my concerns of short length and little longevity through my experience with the demo and my desire to play the full game.
