Not a new owner, had the PS4 since day one and had the PS3 since day one.  I play when I can (I have 2 jobs and 2 young kids).  My kids and wife are on here a lot too, so I don't add people that are going to be swearing or other bad activities.  Please add me if you like to play online.  I have a ton of Playstation 3 titles, and my Playstation 4 collection is starting to grow!!!!  Other than that, I mostly like to see what others are playing and get their reviews on some of the games!

The Last of Us and GTA V are easily the most polished and content-rich games in their respective genres. Love them both. Have fun mate and be sure to check out GTA online once PSN is up and running again!

Owned a PS1 and PS2 (still two of my favorite systems ever), but missed out on the PS3 last gen. Recently obtained a PS4 and am having fun with Far Cry 4, Peggle 2, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, and soon The Last of Us: Remastered.

Currently Playing: Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re- Boot Camp (NS)

Bought my PS4 towards the end of the year. Even though I had the PS3, I didn't play an awful lot of games except FIFA, Madden etc due to having two small children. Feel like I missed out on a lot of games in that era.

Now with the PS4, it almost feels like I'm starting again and getting back into it. Needless to say, my friends list is at the huge number of 1!

Playing Pro Evo 2015 which is brilliant. Always played FIFA and can't believe how much better it feels to play football. Shame about the licences. Recently finished Sniper Elite 3 which I really enjoyed. Playing a bit online too.

Tempted to get COD next and/or TLOU.

I have just joined the PS4 owners club myself. I got mine last Tuesday but only set it up on Friday (due to waiting for the games I ordered to arrive) and despite having a PS3, I only bought PS+ on Saturday to go with it.

Like I said I am not new to Playstation although not that old either considering how many years the Playstation has been going. My first PS was a PS3 although my son had a PS1 and PS2 so had some gaming time on these. I still have both my PS3's too - I have the first PS3 60GB model (although now not working due to YLOD) and the 300GB Slim bought as a replacement.

So far I only have 3 games, Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Destiny: Limited Edition. I already knew exactly what to expect from Destiny as I have that on my XB1 (I bought this version for the 'exclusive' extras and it was cheap - only £45 and the season pass alone costs £35!). As I have 3 Guardians - All lvl 32, All Exotics, All VoG and CE weapons too, it kind of stops me wanting/needing to achieve anything so hoping I can do the same on my PS4 now. I know Killzone: Shadow Fall may not have been that well received in general and it is certainly early days (I have only played a few hours of the MP and completed the first 2 chapters) but its not too bad. I must admit, I do prefer Killzone 2's Campaign over 3's but we will see if this can measure up by the time I finish it. Infamous: Second Son is certainly fun and seems more light-hearted than the previous games. It does seem like both of these though are trying to shoe-horn in ways to make use of certain parts of the controller for the sake of it - for example the 'spray painting' in Infamous.

One thing for certain though is that the games look great! Its certainly a big step up from the last generation. I know visuals are generally a big topic and discussed as if they are one of the most important aspects. From someone who has been gaming for over 35 years, they can certainly help enhance an overall experience but I still prefer Substance over Style. Having both though is definitely better so if you haven't jumped into this generation, I would certainly recommend it. I haven't touched my last generation consoles (PS3 and XB360) since I bought my XB1.

I know the controller is very similar in shape, layout etc to its predecessor but it certainly feels more comfortable - especially over long gaming sessions. I think the reason is down to the trigger (R2/L2 - no I'm not talking about a Star Wars droid ) position and the more bulbous hand grips. I still don't know what the colour changing light bar is supposed to represent in games (if anything) but I do like it and the in-built speaker is cool too. The only criticism I have is around the 'Option' button which I find difficult to press - it seems to flat for my big fingers to press and end up pressing the touch pad instead - I am sure the 'Share' button would be similar although I have not yet needed to press it.

I am interested to know what peripherals people recommend. I am not overly impressed by the supplied headset (if you can call it that) so looking at getting an alternative. I obviously want to build up my library too and hoping to make new friends to play with as well. In terms of PS4 exclusives, the game I am most looking forward to is Uncharted 4. For me the Uncharted series is by far the best franchise on the Playstation - I still think Uncharted 3 is the best looking console game of that generation - I did like the look of the Last of Us but I still think Uncharted 3 had the better look and colour palette. I must admit though I preferred the gameplay/story to the Uncharted series and never finished the Last of Us as I couldn't get into the story. I may pick up the remastered edition for the PS4 and give it another go. I think its a pity that Resistance has now finished too and much preferred that to the Ratchet and Clank series - although I did enjoy those too.

Its certainly looking like an exciting year ahead for gaming and hope to play with some of you at some point soon....

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

Your pic had me longing for Fallout 4 again. :/ I too am a day 1 owner of PS4. It has so far provided good entertainment, but nothing I own yet is a must buy, but I think it's the same for Microsoft at the moment. I also have almost no friendslist, since the lack of blockbuster title means my friends are reluctant to move into the new era of Playstation. Feel free to add me @ Xtreme_playa187, I'll be getting Helldrivers. Hopefully it is the co-op experience I am waiting for (Sorry Destiny).

Guess who just joined the PS4 owners club? This guy...

I picked up The Last of Us bundle and Injustice Gods Among Us. I wanted Dragon Age to be my first PS4 game but it will have to wait till my next paycheck. Injustice was the only game in the bargain bin that I had any interests in. I never played the PS3 version and always meant to anyways...

I drove home like this...

@get2sammyb - So far so good. I'm not a huge fighting game fan but I will get some enjoyment out of Injustice in-till I can get something more to my liking. I plan on giving both Valiant Hearts and OlliOlli a shot.

I'm amazed how fast it loads up my trophy list... On PS3 it would take forever since I have played so many games haha.
