Topic: Unusual PS4 Games?

Can anyone recommend an eccentric/unusual game for the PS4? I was thinking of Deadly Premonition on PS3 for an example, but one with more challenging gameplay. It has to be weird in some way. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@kyleforrester87 Not having played Nier: Automata, but that was still the first one that came to mind.

It's quite difficult to come up with a game that is bizarre and has somewhat challenging gameplay.

Hmmm .... “weird” is surely subjective. Nier and Danganronpa are good shouts. Also I think What Remains of Edith Finch is weird in the sense the gameplay changes from section to section in a way that is unique from any game I’ve ever played. It’s not very difficult though. But it is an excellent experience.

I found No Man's Sky a bit weird.

Jazzpunk, Undertale and Bound. All weird and mostly wonderful.

Push Me Pull You is possibly the weirdest game concept I've seen on PS4!

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Hm, 'weird in some way'.... well, here's my take on that:
Timothy vs the Aliens, Obduction, Stick it to the Man, Earth Defense Force 4.1, Oddworld New 'n' Tasty, Shadow Warrior 1 & 2, Blood Bowl 2, The Talos Principle, The Deadly Tower of Monsters ...

Hmm, it's hard to think of a game that has that weird/funny-but-serious tone of Deadly Premonition / Twin Peaks. Both The Evil Within and Resident Evil 4 are pretty weird, if you haven't played those, in that campy-but-not-really-funny kind of way (with a huge dose of horror).

Also...uh...Let it Die, maybe? I actually haven't played that one, but it's been on my radar (it's free too, which is good and bad).

Make it a great day!

@smelly_jr The game Virginia is very much inspired by Twin Peaks (it's a good game), but it doesn't really push the boundaries of gaming as a medium or experiment with genre conventions.

There actually was an article on the ps blog not too long ago. I did remember most of those myself though.

@JohnnyShoulder Goat Simulator is great so far, thanks for the recommendation, and to everyone else who recommended games.
