Agree that concept wise Geese is closer to a caucasian Heihachi........even has the troubled son in Rock Howard (Garou and Capcom VS SNK).
In other news the original director of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike left Capcom for SNK Playmore.....that's good news considering we won't probably see another fighter out of Capcom this gen besides SFV, while SNK is rumored to be working on a new Samurai Shodown and possibly Garou title, besides KOF14.

@sub12 I agree. She looks like how a 3D Mai should.
And yeah, she's iconic. She's basically SNK's Chun Li.

at first I was hugely disappointed by the graphics/the graphical style - but i admit it evolved pretty well, although Id still prefer a more 2D Anime Look (like Guilty Gear Xrd). Huge Fan of SNK and KOF here - so Ill be lookin forward like a kid ^^
KOF 13 looked great, so it's a bit surprising that they didn't expand upon that base. That being said, fans of SNK should not hold the company hostage to sprites forever, they need to expand. I'm pretty optimistic on KOF 14, and the recruitment of talent from Dimps and Capcom indicate that we will most likely see a new Samurai Shodown as well.
Guilty Gear Xrd / Revelator is probably the best looking fighter of this generation, and I don't even care for anime......between the music and graphical presentation, Arc is pretty amazing.
@sub12: they did some 3D KOF before - I played those games and they were good, I just like 2D art more. They really should stick to sprite art because thats what SNK always did best: havin the most stylish art design. Well since the day ArkSystem came around with Guilty Gear I dont like the 3D design that much, its not bad but cant hold up to the former 2D glory. But SNK will always be niche anyway, and as a fan I cant really complain since KOF finally continues. A new SamuraiShowdown would also be nice - but please, not in 3D ... thinkin of the last one on my 360 gives me shivers ..
And yes - GGXrd is by far the best lookin fighter this gen., what should also be mentioned is that the gameplay itself is also as brilliant as the art design. Oh - and dont forget the Soundtrack not a huge fan of rock/metal but this is exceptional fitting. I just hope they add all the missing characters ...
Hmm, sorry to say, but there is no way that they are goiin back to sprites with a new Samurai Shodown, it would be a pseudo-2D gameplay, but using 3D assets, just like KOF14. I use to not buy the excuse, but now I do, that sprite artist, good ones, are just very rare these days, and expensive. It's just not worth it given the time constraints of having to hand draw every frame of animation vice using polygons and a modern 3D engine. Even Guilty Gear Xrd uses cell-shaded polygons for the fighters, nothing about them is sprites anymore.
I don't think they will mimic the gameplay of KOF Maximum Impact or Shodown Sen though, they are going for something more akin to SF4 and SF5, a pseudo-2D fighting game. Not a Namco fighter.
I don't why they dont? Seriously, it's a PS4 exclusive, and SNK has some kind of exclusivity contract with Sony (all of their advertising is on the PS4 blog, Sony reps make mention of SNK at publicity events, like last year's TGS and the Dec Playstation event.)
SNK may not be big in Europe, but they are popular in China/Taiwan/Singapore/Korea, and have very strong cult followings in NA/Latin America/Japan.
