@BLP_Software My initial impressions with Sonic Forces is that it's pretty great! There are a few things that need improving, but other then that I am really enjoying it. A step in the right direction for 3D Sonic games! I am playing the game on hard and I got S Rank (Perfect) on every stage so far!
@A-Leal All the reviews I read were complaining about how easy the game is even on the hardest difficulty and that killed my interest since the game is pretty short too... Are you the Master of Sonic or is it really THAT easy?

On Hard, it's not even hard. I've been playing Sonic for a very long time. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite, getting all the chaos emeralds and super emeralds now that's a challenge. To me, I don't really care how hard or easy it is, but so far Forces is easy but still fun too me, to each their own I suppose right? @KratosMD I wasn't complaining about the difficulty. Sonic 06 was hard in the fact that the game barely worked, like dying while you go through a loop and fall to your death lol.. I am enjoying Forces. It's fun. Generations later stages were hard? I never really noticed all the nostalgia and I was in love. I'd say Sonic Unleashed was the hardest 3D Sonic game, hot dog missions were tough at times.
I haven't played Sonic and the Black Knight so I can't comment on that, Secret Rings was not very fun, I thought the motion controls got kind of boring after a while. Colors was very fun as well. I'm having lots of fun with Sonic Forces, the stage design is neat, music is good and I like the sections where 'gotta go fast'.
Please forgive the double post and a few spoilers in this post, I woke up extra early this morning and before work I finished Sonic Forces. My final thoughts on Sonic Forces is that the first half of the game is good, but it falls apart in the second half. Seriously, Forces was in the development for four years.. Classic Sonic (or what they call him now, "Sonic from another dimension") his stages were so dull and felt weird.
Jumping in this game also also felt weird. Also, playing through Green Hill Zone four times, Seriously? Hey Sega, Emerald Hill Zone would've been nice, or completely new levels.
Music in this game was good. Modern Sonic stages in the early parts of the game were fun, later half not so much. Stages were too short. Some stages finished in under 3 mins.
Final boss fight was just the final boss rehashed from Sonic Colors.
Episode Shadow is just 3 short levels, Shadow has a different homing ability then Sonic.
I liked the custom hero, so many options to choose from, however custom hero levels were meh, the levels where you team up with Sonic were fun.
Also, NO SUPER SONIC?!
Bottom line; Early half of the game was good, later parts felt rushed and broken.
I really really really hope Sega don't give up on 3D Sonic. It CAN be good, look at Adventure 1 and 2. They could make an incredible 3D Sonic game with modern technology.
Irony is after Generations they had a good idea (and a right to experiment with a new idea after three huts in a row) with Lost World.
Problem is, rather than refine it like they did with the Unleashed gameplay going into Colours, they dropped it entirely and instead listened to fans who just wanted the Boost gameplay back.
And they dont want that.
I do wonder what the labour turnover in Sonic Team is as this game clearly had multiple idea people.
