Welcome hopefully an ongoing series (if approved by the PS Lords) of selected Spotify playlists to some of our favourite games. I've already got a few playlists lined up and hoping to release a new one every month. While of course people's musical taste differs from the next, I like discovering new acts of songs and hopefully it will be the same here.
For the first in the series I felt it was quite timely given the return of it's summer games event that Overwatch should be the first up. While the next post is going to be about why I chose the songs I did, for now though you can just find the link to the playlist here https://open.spotify.com/user/11140698173/playlist/6vAE0V1WHa...
Hope you enjoy it.

For Overwatch I decided to do something different. I decided to pick one song that represents each of the games heroes, this I felt would lend a good diversity in music. And yes I do plan on adding a new track with each new hero as well but for now here's the Push Square Push Play Overwatch Playlist.

Reinhardt - Wind of Change By The Scorpions
Since he's the oldest member of Overwatch I felt this song perfectly summed up his hope of a better world despite living in one that's fraught with conflict.

Soldier 76 - No More Heroes By The Stranglers
Jack Morrison became Soldier 76 because he no longer believes that such things as “heroes” exist anymore.

Zarya - War/Fanfare from Rocky IV By Vince Dicola
The Russian connection from this piece of music isn’t lost on me but nevertheless this is a fist pumping, triumphant track that goes with Zarya's determination, honour and strength.

Reaper - Vampire Hunters By Anton Coppola
From one of the most underrated film soundtracks comes this menacing piece from Bram Stoker's Dracula that fits perfectly with Reaper's constant threat on the battlefield.

Mercy - (You’re The) Devil in Disguise By Elvis Presley
This one I decided to take the song from Genji's perspective on Mercy during a time he was struggling to come to terms with his new life as cybernetic powered ninja.

Winston - Bad Touch By The Bloodhound Gang
Quite the left field choice this. The song is probably more known for it's video with the band dressed as monkeys. Plus the constant mentions of the Discovery Channel made me think that it's a channel that Winston would watch often.

Lúcio - One More Time By Daft Punk
Covering Lùcio’s DJing background as well as his positive outlook on life comes this party anthem from (for me) the king's of Techno.

Zenyatta - World, Hold On (Children of the Sky) By Bob Sinclair
Reflecting Zenyatta's philosophy of uniting the world in peace and harmony, this Bob Sinclair number takes things further by asking a tumultuous world to “hold on” and take stock.

Widowmaker - Davy Jones By Hans Zimmer
From Pirates of the Carribbean to the hottest sniper in the world. This short track starts slowly before building into a crescendo, that suited Widowmaker's tragic origins to her descent into darkness.

Tracer - Don't Stop Me Now From Queen
This get up and dance number perfectly suited Tracer’s happy go lucky nature. Lyrics like “burning through the sky” fitted her aviation background as well.

McGree - In Time By Mark Collie
McGree needed something western themed and while something from the old spaghetti westerns would have suited, this little gem from Mark Collie will do nicely.

Sombra - Heads Will Roll A-Track Remix By Yeah Yeah Yeahs
For the Mexican hacker I wanted something that was rather Techno but fast paced as well as conveying a sense of danger.

Orisa - With Our Love By The Talking Heads
This was by far and away the toughest character to find a song for. In the end I went with something that was more themed around Orisa’s creator's desire to make a better world.

Ana - I’m Alive By Imelda May
I was originally looking for something old fashioned for Ana but this more contemporary number (with it's foot still firmly in the past) suited her well. And as we discovered last year, Ana is still very much alive.

Doomfist - War Pigs By Black Sabbath
Doomfist along with Talon value war and conflict above all else, so something epic and battle hardened was needed, the Sabbath delivered.

Roadhog - Brothers in Arms By Junkie XL
It had to be something from Mad Max didn't it? For us gamers, this was the music Hideo Kojima walked out to at E3 last year before announcing Death Stranding.

Bastion - Devils and Dust By Bruce Springsteen
Who better then The Boss to bring a song about the casualties of war for both human and environment. And no character in Overwatch sits right in the middle of conflict then Bastion.

Torbjorn - Tom Sawyer By Rush
Considering he likes to hammer things I felt a song with strong drums was needed for Torbjorn. This Rush classic came through.

Genji - Runaway By Linkin Park
Reflecting his need to escape his environment but ultimately coming to terms with his new life, Runaway was a good fit for Genji.

Mei - Before the Deluge By Joan Baez
This cover version of a Jackson Browne number carries a strong environmental message which Mei would approve of. “Our world is worth fighting for” indeed.

Symmetra - Control By Janet Jackson
The Indian beauty sees control as the best form of order. This 80’s pop track from Jacko’s little sister brings a strong sense of female empowerment.

Hanzo - Boulevard of Broken Dreams By Green Day
The brother of Genji walks a lonely road, seeking redemption for his sins. At least this song will keep him company.

D’Va - Gotta Be You By 2NE1
It had to be K-Pop for the former Esports star didn't it? God I listened to some terrible numbers trying to find something that at least tolerable.

Pharah - Can't Pin Me Down By Marina and the Diamonds
Marina brings a female empowerment anthem that suits Pharah’s determination and honour. Plus considering how long she stays in the air, Pharah literally can't be pinned down.

Junkrat - Big Balls By AC/DC
Junkrat needed something Australian, something rock, something funny. Oh yeah, AC/DC. Like the old rockers, Junkrat has big balls and there go boom.

For fps games I'd just say stick on some celldweller.
