Hi all im very new to PS4 we have had PS3 for years and yesterday upgraded to the 4. Im loving the system but im a little confused by the ps+ I got 3 months and popped it onto my account with it being the master account (the other 2 accounts on the system are sub accounts) and I was wondering if the kids could access online features on their own accounts without me having to buy 3 lots of online access as that seems pretty steep. Seems a bit strange to say that the games i bought on the ps store can be accessed by all accounts. Am I doing something wrong or is this the downside to the 4 over the 3

Sub-accounts don't factor in, meaning that other than control over them they are basically just accounts.

Any game licenses you have on your primary PS4 can be used by anyone on that system. If you go to a friends house and log on to their PS4 with your account, you could download and play any game you have a license for, but other people on that machine could not use it since its not your primary PS4.

I don't let my kids do anything online yet, so I'm not sure about the online thing but a quick google indicates that as long as you've marked the machine as your primary PS4 they should be able to use your subscription for online features.

Thanks. Mine are quite sensible and heavily watched while they are online. Once my daughter has finished playing octodad I will have a look I think I made a mistake in making this one system everyones primary system. So im thinking if I deactivate primary from the kids accounts they should be able to access all features of ps+

Sub accounts do indeed have access to online features. On my PS4 my I have the primary account and my son is a sub account. He's able to play Overwatch, and other online games as if he is the primary. Heck on games like Black Ops 3and Diablo III we can do split screen online.

@Rukiafan7: Well yeah cause the PS+ is more or less tied to the primary account on the system. If you'd take that primary account off with the PS+ but leave the subs account on the system they won't have any PS+ access.

@Jeweleep77: Turn the setting on your kids sub account game restrictions to games at 3, 8, 12 or 15 years of age. There are 7/8 levels to choose from the default is 18. you don't need to start playing with primary and sub prime settings. Make sure your the primary account holder and your family have everything to access on the ps as @Mega-Gazz: Says above but only the games at the selected age will be playable.
