Bread-Not-Toast

Hey guys I turned on my ps4 today and switched to the HDMI channel to be greeted with no picture but sound and a message on my TV saying "unsupported signal please check output device"
I thought it was the HDMI loose but no all cables fit fine, so anyway I change d channels and went back and it appeared for a sec and the ps4 entered rest mode for some reason

Anyway I turned the ps4 at the mains and turned it on again and it seems to be working okay now.

I just want to know whether it's the ps4 as it's still under warranty or whether it's a HDMI or my TV?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sometimes my TV displays this message. Solved by...turning the tele off and on again (I know). It may not work for you, but worth a go. If that fails, stand approximately 90 degrees to the side of your audiovisual device and hit firmly until operation resumes.

Only advice i could offer is pretty straightforward. Make sure ya Video settings on the console are set to automatic detection first, if it still does it, try running the PS4 in 720p and see if the tv picks it up straight away... could be the tv...

Also do you have the HDMI device link on?.. where it communicates between the ps4 and tv?.. could also be an issue potentially, I have had this no picture, but sound issue with my AV Receiver in the past... Although not for a long while..

Hope you can remedy it without the need for repair.

I stood there chattering in excitement, like a necrophile at a bus crash....

I've actually had this before, at least with the no picture part, and it's been my HDMI cable every time. I'd take it out, put it back in, and it'd be fine. If it keeps happening definitely try a different HDMI and see if anything changes. If not, it may be the PS4 or even the PS4's HDMI port.
