Hello! Have some questions about refund. tried to post this on actual PS site forum but it wouldn't send. STORY -
Got a PS4 & son loves Fort Nite. He never did this on PS3, he's 9. We went to Mcds & told I didn't have enough $$ when my work check just got deposited, I checked & YEP, 300$ gone. He is crying crazy saying he didn't mean to. There's a kid on YouTube who shows how to get free V bucks, guess the game figured the hack cause wasn't free. 😫😫 Called PS network. Lady was super nice said good you called us first or your account would been banned which if someone's bank refunds then that's stealing from PS. you always go to source that took $$ esp if its important to you. Lady said 1 woman her kid took 600$ she kept pushing X! 😱😱 said she'd do 1 good time gesture & refund me. Thought she said 1-2 business days must misunderstood cause 2nd lady said don't think it would say customer was aware of charge back time if you wasn't getting refund, seems like you'll get your $$ back just take time(1-2 billing cycles) when I checked status, allow 3-5 days to process refund. Then up to 7 days. Called again & YES I keep bugging them cause I did research & person got denied( he went a month without calling) & like others said if that was my $$ I'd call daily lol so I make sure every 3 days 😂 last person(4 days ago) said it got escalated I asked if meant it was approved & he said yes & I'll hear something by end of day & I didn't, says allow additional time to be processed(since 3-4 days ago). 1st lady processed on 6/26 so been 12-13 days almost 2 weeks!! Never did a refund or any return. I get why they don't usually do refunds cause everyone would buy game, beat it then return it. Should only if something is wrong. My fault it happened, should had it secure but thought needed password & steps before making any purchase!! Maybe where he was on mine & I'm account holder it went so easy? Idk!! MY QUESTION! - ANY who got refund esp with digital/add ons - how long did it take to get approved or denied? Does it really take 1-2 weeks for a yes/no answer?! Not worried how long it took to get $$ back, but amount of days to get approval/denial. SORRY IT WAS SO LONG!! Just worrying myself go death, was my rent $$ be happy to get half back 😓😓 everyone says its rare & if they do, they put back to PSN I was asked If it goes back to card said yes & they never said they wouldn't. Prob shouldn't of researched cause 90% said customer service is awful & just neg things but seemed very nice & helpful 3 times I talked to them 🤷🏻 please let me know your experiences!! Approved or denied. Few words or paragraph, all helps!! I need to ease my mind or least what to expect. Thank you for all who read this & even more if you replied! Verrrry grateful!!

@kgheen09 I dont know about refunds. However this story is all too familiar to me. It has happened to me also.

You are lucky they are refunding you. On a professional level refunds should take no more than 3 working days. Its a straight return into your bank account.

One thing this story always throws up is there is no protection in place for the debit card holder. There should be a right to return policy for out of character massive payments on game microtransactions as these instances are nearly always a kid nicking the money.

@themcnoisy you could always get your money back with your bank but Sony or other outlet wouldn't be happy with it so you could be banned for doing that.

@NecuVise my situation has been and gone. Dont worry about that! Ive talked about it enough in the forums lol. What I really want to see is an in game limit on microtransactions. Say £50 or something. That way even if a kid goes nuts for 48 hours you dont end up significantly out of pocket.

I got a refund from Sony after buying DLC for a game I had on disc that turned out to be a different region. I had a bit of back and forth and had to send photographic proof but they refunded. Refund took about a week. This was UK though.

I got it set so any payments I have to enter my password on the ps4 before the transaction is completed. If I had any kids I would not give them this password. I know this doesn't help if your kid has already emptied your bank account, but something to think about if you have not already got this setup.
