Topic: Options for outputting PS4 chat through TV or speaker add-on

Hi all,

Recently I've developed tinnitus and was looking for options to handle voice chat online. I don't want voice chat right next to my ear to aggravate things. I understand it is possible to output chat through speakers. Do I need a USB mic in order to keep talking to people this way?

Also, does anyone know if there is a peripheral that acts like a headset with a mic but in a speaker format for the controller as that would be perfect!

Thanks in advance guys,

Churchy

@Churchy You can output the voice chat to the speakers as you've mentioned. In doing so the mic attached to the controller will still work as normal, so you could (for example) use the supplied mic/ear piece but just leave the earpiece hanging with the mic clipped to your collar. So no, it doesn't disable the mic function. That's at least how I remember it working when I tried..

Not sure on your other query, I do know what you mean and I'm guessing there could be a few solutions out there but I'm not sure of compatibilities. I bet a lot of them are Bluetooth.

@kyleforrester87 Cheers man. I wasn't sure if I'd need an extra mic but I'll give that a go for the moment and see how I get on. I know there's a speakerphone adapter for the Xbox One so I'm hoping there's something built for the PS4 somewhere. But until then, I'll go with this.
