@finalstan Seems like a weird game, it's reviewing well elsewhere too so I think it'll be worth it. I too will probably have it on the shelf for while I finish up Horizon (although might play the opening section!). The PS Pro performance was fine on the demo but as I understand its the open world sections that have performance problems.

@finalstan I actually don't mind playing through this game multiple times as I've already played through the demo multiple times and I still had a blast! I don't know though, I think I might actually play it on Friday and see where I stand. Switching from one game to another does seem like something I might do, just to keep things varied.

I'm just interested in how the story will turn out, as I've heard from multiple reviews that the story is really weird. This just peaks my interest so much that I have to play it as soon as I get it.

@kyleforrester87 @KratosMD I just feel like a child in a sweet shop with all these lovely games coming out now. Have a bite of one, leave another one for later in a secret stash that nobody knows about for when you're peckish at midnight. And now the Persona 5 trailer's dropped just to remind us that the onslaught of titles is far from over.

I just read Kotaku's review of NieR (which was really positive by the way, only complaint was its load times) and it seems that each new playthrough of the game is like playing a different game - up to a certain amount of playthroughs. This sounds really interesting to me, imagine finishing a game and starting a new playthrough and getting a completely new experience. That's really cool!

Now I'm even more intrigued.

My copy should ship today or tomorrow but unlike HZD I am not in a hurry with this one (had nothing to play, but now I have HZD). Still very hyped, though, not sure I will hold off completely until I am done with HZD!

@finalstan My copy shipped off just now so like with HZD I should get it tomorrow! I'll probably play it tomorrow if I'm in the mood, but we'll see.

Yeah I expect mine will arrive tomorrow, I want to have a go on it but I've still got another 20-30 hours of Horizon to get through. Hmmm might try to juggle them both after all lol

Not me, have't received shipment notification yet, delivery is due tomorrow, though.

Just got my game! I'm installing it right now. Gotta say by the way that the reversible art cover is pretty sweet. I don't usually use them but it looks nice looking at when opening the game case, instead of seeing some random text.

Lol I just played through the first part of the game (the demo) and I got completely annihilated. I was even playing on normal. Maybe it's just me but the game seems much harder than the demo. Or it could be that I'm just sucking because I'm accustomed to how I played Horizon, haha. It's definitely a challenging game though, no doubt about it!

@KratosMD I just had a little go on my lunch break and got up to just before the boss, to be honest it felt about as hard? But you start as a level 1 and I think on the demo you're already a few higher? Did find myself hammering the health potions lol.

Can't wait to play more tonight

It looks really cool and I want to get it but this whole having to complete the game multiple times is kinda confusing me.
Is it the same game three times ?

@kyleforrester87 Yeah, that could be it. I also used a lot of health potions and I realised that I need to be more careful with how I play against certain enemies, for example using the pod to shoot the ones that shoot the pink balls. I find it boring to constantly use that because it poises no challenge, I feel like the shooting aspect of the game is more of a complement to your melee attacks instead of something you should strictly use. But I guess that was the intention when implementing the twin-stick shooting segments, so I'll have to get used to it.

Btw, when I died the first time the game took me through a sped-up segment of the credits and then it ended the game for me and gave me ending W apparently. It now says that on my save file, lol. Kinda cool actually.

Also, the absence of an auto-save feature might become annoying in the later levels I reckon. It's cool that the game doesn't have all the features of a modern game and tries to stand out, but I can imagine myself getting frustrated in the future when playing a long level and then dying, only to try to go through the whole level again. I just gotta gid gud I suppose.

@Bread-Not-Toast No, from what I've heard from Kotaku it's like playing a different game each time and there are five different playthroughs that you can have, which are all apparently unique and interesting in their own way. I'm guessing this is the developers' way of keeping the players' interest up as long as possible.

@Bread-Not-Toast Locations are the same but characters and story are different. Every review I've read said it gets better and better not worse and worse so it doesn't worry me.

Another game delayed from Amazon! And another £5 added to my gift card balance (first was for HZD). Will not play it this weekend! Oh well, more Horizon for me then.

@finalstan That's too bad, but yeah you can always count on Horizon to satisfy your video game hunger.

I just played more of NieR and explored its open world and I gotta say that it surprisingly is not at all empty as one might think. Everywhere you go there's stuff to do so it's not like you're running from point A to point B with nothing in-between. The music is also phenomenal, there's definitely that feel of weirdness in the tracks but they still sound so good. And yeah, just like the PushSquare review mentioned, the frame rate can get a bit choppy when you explore the open world but it didn't become as noticeable the longer I played.

Also, I urge you all to activate the network settings for this game. Apparently it has a Dark Souls system where you can see people who have died in the game and you can interact with their bodies in multiple ways. It's pretty great, there's a lot of depth here.

Yeah, people were not kidding when they said that this game was going to be weird. Already beat the second area and I think I'm scarred for life..

I wanna play more though, lol.

lol I just played my first run through in one sitting, 15 hours (with a 2 hour break) watching credits now! Wasn't sure at first but it really picked up in the last 3rd, looking forward to the next 2 play throughs. Will probably take my time a bit more with the next two. Wanted to get to the meat of the game!

Not played a game this much in one go for a long time, it became strangely difficult to stop!
