Hi everyone, I would post this in the official Playstation forums but I can't get into my account so I'll post this on here instead. (This is my first post on push square, sorry for any mistakes).
My primary PSN account was hacked last week with two unauthorised payments being made along with my sign in ID being changed. I immediately got in touch with PS Support and Paypal to let them know that my account had been compromised. I got my account back straight away and left them to continue the investigation.
A couple of days ago I got a refund from Paypal and the money was placed back on my card, but Sony have since suspended both of my PSN accounts for 'chargeback' and it appears Paypal have refunded me without Sony's permission. I'm now locked out of my accounts and unable to play online, I contacted Playstation Support again earlier but was told there's nothing they can do and that I would just have to wait.
Has anyone suffered from a similar experience to me, or know's how long the process takes? It's getting really frustrating, especially considering I had booked this weekend of work to play some games with friends.
From what I've heard from others, the only way to get your account back is to add funds to your wallet for the 'lost amount'. If the charge back was $100, you'll need to add $100 back to your PSN wallet through support before they'll even consider giving you access again.
It's a terrible system. If possible everyone reading should enable 2 factor auth to help mitigate the risks of this happening to you. Otherwise, be prepared to lose money when/if you get hacked.

@Tasuki: Yup, don't use your cards or PayPal, plenty of places now to get instant codes, or just stock up. The only reason I still have a PayPal account is for sites where it's literally the only option.
@Drawfull: Yeah after that big Sony hack a few years ago and then having my own XBLA account hacked as well I never use personal bank accounts for anything online just prepaid cards and such.

If your ever buying anything off the PSN with your cc always delete your cc info straight after, because of the sake of a few minutes out of your time its nothing to what could happen.
