Well like everyone here knows the PS4 is coming this year in atleast one of the territories and there's still no price announced so I kinda have a guess for the PS4 price I will try to approximate the price of most of the announced components of the PS4 all this. On every component listed I will try to make a guess to the manufacturer's price.

RAM: For a Mayor company like sony that even makes computer they might be able to get the RAM for PS4 just for 50-60$
Headset: Every PS4 is coming with a standar headset with Mic it unless this shall increase their expenses in atleast 20-30$
Disc Drive: PS4 is going to sill use blueray disc drives that make them more expensive than the standar ones 30-40$.
Controller: Dualshock 4 Move integrations and touchpad make this controller more expensive than the standar dualshock 3 to produce this controllers Sony will cost atleast 45-55$
Playstation Eye: I will set the price equal to the actual playstation eye price 35-45$
APU: Their new CPU+GPU chip after checking the AMD site price I think sony might get it for just 60-70$
Wifi/Bluetooh Adapter: Its a standard expense on all kind of PCs, cells and consoles it enables the Wi-Fi and bluetooth connection possible 30-40$
Hard Drive: Here comes the ouch. Sony is expecting to launch the console with very large hard drives it was even announced in this site 90-100$
Assemble and Shippment: PS4 like most of the consoles I suppose are going to be assembled in China the transportation of this devices is actualy more expensive than the assemble proccess 20-30$
Retailer Benefit: Retailers also get a % of benefits for each PS4 sold 50$ sounds nice to me.
Sony's loss: Just like Vita I think sony will plan to sell it at loss I will be set it on this one on -40$
Console plastic and Other Details: Simple enough 15$

Well with everything listed above I will proceed to add it all up all up. I will make an average for each section I used an estimate price. Example 10-20$ I will use 15$. So my magic number guess after looking for all the info I collected the magic number is 450$ dollars. Remember that this is just a guess I might be wrong.
Did I make some mistakes any mistakes? Does this number seems wrong? Opinions?
Please just post below =3

Nice, if your estimate is 450 and this is true. Then the ps4 will be bought at Launch

You missed the extra streaming connectivity that's meant to be separate from the main wi-fi and bluetooth radios.

Nice work. That seems like a solid way to look at things. I'd estimate the cost of CPU and RAM for a manufacturer to be much much lower though.

I'd guess RAM: $15 and CPU: $10

I didn't put as much thought into it as you, but I'm guessing $399 will be the sweet spot

Stream connectivity in this case is made thanks to your internet connection and Gakai so I didn't add it except for the remote play of vita thats meant to play thanks to your Wi-Fi connection/router.

I kinda thought of it but then one of my friends told me that build this it was not that simple to build this because it was 8 GB Ram GDDR5 it might take 70 bucks to built this chips but Sony as a huge manufacturer might be able to produce them at a lower price thats why I picked 50-60$ range.
The PS4 no longer use CPU's they are now using a new AMD chip named APU that is kinda a fusion of both is not really chip either on AMD page most of those are sold 80-90$ but for being manufacturer and being a huge-scale purchase i thought the price of 60-70$ would be fine.

And I repeat this is just a guess I might be wrong and I might have forgotten few components.

I do not believe Sony produces RAM. It would probably cost them more time in R&D to create a location to product the ram rather than just outsourcing it like they do most of the various components. RAM is extremely cheap, even to consumers. Even being DDR5, 'oem' cost would be much lower than we'd assume.

Yes, I understand the concept of an APU, but throwing a gpu die on a cpu isn't going to cost huge amounts of money. A consumer can purchase a 3.8ghz trinity chip with an 7660D for about $120. Consumers pay a HUGE mark up to conpinsate for the huge R&D cost of a new cpu design.

As a quick reference, it only cost Apple about $15 to make the CPU in their iPhone 4s (the crappy ddr2 memory cost about $10 if you were interested). Yes, it's a different chip and yes it's a far far far far worse chip.. but the process of putting a chip together and ram materials needed would be comparable at best. At least AMD won't have to worry as much about form factor with their design.

I doubt it will be $500 since they said they learned their lesson. The Xbox is easily going to be around $500 considering the kinect garbage is required. $450 sounds great, $399 sounds incredible! I cannot wait for this machine.

Sony is planning to bundle the new playstation Eye with the PS4 so its kinda the same case but I don't think they are going to sell it with the Move controllers it will be completly optional. I think.

Epic, either way that PS4 is mine, the same day it was announced I traded in my Xbox and 19Xbox games at Gamestop and put that on a card for the PS4. This machine is going to be epic.

My bet is that there will be a $350 version and a $450 version.

I agree with your estimate, $450-$550 are where I guessed.

If it's gonna be $450, that'd be awesome if they reduced it slightly, down to $444.44

Really, though, they'll probably have two models, one being ~$100 more and will feature a larger hard drive and maybe a year of PS+ or something

Going to buy the PS4 and the Vita on the same day.

Assuming It would cost Sony $450 dollars to manufacture the console(I assume it will be less than that, though shipping and advertising will raise the cost to Sony) then we should expect a price below $400, even if that is just $399. Sony has used the strategy of selling at a loss for most if not all of their consoles, and they will continue it to keep the price competitive.
