Topic: MPCL1 vs. Other Mini Projectors

Like everyone else I got excited when Sony announced they would be pushing a small projector for on the go game play. I like the idea that I can bring this to my friends and we can play on two screens. I started to look into other mini projectors and found a lot of them out in the market...better ones. Check these out

AAXA Technologies ST200 720P LED

Asus S1 LED Projector, 200 Lumens

Acer K132 600 Lumens Laser LED projector

All in the same price range as the MPCL1 and the specs and features are better. I may end up getting one of these as oppose to the one from Sony. Thoughts on these compared to Sony's?

@titanpush: The lumen rating is very important, what you have to worry about with projectors compared to a tv is swapping bulbs. The mini projectors don't cut it for gaming at all as the size of the picture will be tiny.

I haven't used a projector since my previous job which I left last January and the problems I had setting up training rooms with hotel owned projectors was frustrating. If I was to get a new projector I would test them out first like a guitar or car, there's all kinds of issues you would never even think exist like clarity of the picture, distance between the bulb and wall, propping the projecter up, length of socket, compatibility with devices, ease of use, warm up, colour quality etc etc. Bits seem to fall off projectors as well with my experience. A big TV is a much better experience all round and has zero maintenance.

I've read that LED projectors lifespan is pretty good and the picture quality of a 720p isn't that bad either but a lot of people are saying 1080p is the least I should go. I think I'll do more digging but I do want to try gaming on a projector. I know projectors aren't good in light but I play at night anyways so I'm not worried about that. I'm also looking for something that's a bit smaller for easy lugging around since I plan on using it elsewhere.
