The framerate wasn't great on my vanilla PS4. Felt like playing MH4U on a base model 3DS. Certainly playable, but the PS4 is also a lot more powerful than the base 3DS.
@Ralizah The console power doesn't really have anything to do with a comparison. Let's be realistic here. The graphical comparison between MH4U and MHW is night an day. It's like a very late gen PS2 game compared to a PS4 game. It's a multi-generational leap from any other MH game in terms of visuals, and processing power required to run it.
(From the beta's performance:) It looks like vanilla users can expect 30-40fps in the main game with very rare/occasional dips below 30. That's on par for a MH game.

I'll be getting the Deluxe Edition. Some of the local stores has the CE but it's $50 more. I want the statue but it's not worth it. On top of that it's a Region 3 and not a Region 1 version.
I also experienced drops in frame rate on my base PS4, but it was still "playable".
The matchmaking didn't work for me. I had to manually find a team.
I played a lot of quests and although my Internet speed isn't very high (~15Mbps), I barely had any issues despite playing even with Japanese players. In the rare instances when lag was really bad the monster would just freeze in its tracks (or orbit; even if it was jumping it would freeze mid-air) while players could move freely so there were no unpleasant surprises once the connection was restored.
@WanderingBullet I wanted to get the collectors edition, but it was sold out I'm hoping to snag one locally, but chances are slim. I had to settle on the Deluxe Edition.

@NathanUC Yeah, the CE was my initial choice but it was a GameStop exclusive which meant that I couldn't pre-order it. Over here, the local retailers tend mark up the prices for special/collector's editions. I wouldn't mind paying the additional $50 if theirs was Region 1 version since it would probably cost around that much for me to import it from the US anyways.

@WanderingBullet Yeah I hear ya. My wife is getting a physical copy, so in tern, I also get a physical copy best of both worlds!
Also back in terms of performance, from what the internet says, the beta was the same demo from way back at E3. This means devs could have had a decent amount of time for optimization. There is a reasonable chance that performance will be improved in the final release

@WanderingBullet In the UK, the Amazon steelcase edition has the same content as the Digital Deluxe edition apparently. However, Capcom will be releasing the content in the deluxe edition as a DLC pack for anyone to purchase later on. They are considering doing the same with the pre order bonuses. So, if you don't mind picking up the DLC, by buying the physical standard edition I believe you would only lose out on the PSN avatars.
@WanderingBullet The US versions of the PS4 Pro Rathalos edition DO come with physical copies (and some digital goodies), but the Japanese model was a digital copy. I'm not sure which the French edition comes with.
The Rathalos Pro edition is for my wife, but I plan to swap the tops of my Pro with that Pro so I get the cool Rathalos

@Shellcore Yeah, they'll be releasing the Deluxe Edition contents that doesn't include the avatars called the Deluxe Kit. I have no idea how much it'll cost, though.
@NathanUC Oh, I was a bit confused, since you mentioned that you got the Deluxe Edition and your wife was getting a physical copy. Are you referring the physical copy from PS4 Pro Rathalos Edition?
@WanderingBullet Correct, we will have a physical copy that comes with the PS4 Pro and I'll have the digital deluxe edition installed on mine.
I just hope the Rathalos Pro comes in relatively close to release date. We can both play my digital copy, but it's a bit of a pain.

@NathanUC Gotcha. I guess playing it one release day was one of the reasons why I decided to get the Deluxe Edition as well. This is the first time I went with digital for a full game. I would've have to wait at least three days for Amazon to ship the physical copy.
@Shellcore I actually found out about the SteelBook edition last week. Is £47.99 the nett price? I've looked at some of the games on Amazon.co.uk but I can't tell if they're the original or discounted prices.
