Topic: Hyper Light Drifter

I was talking to @themcnoisy about this last night, I've been keeping an eye on it for a couple of years now and really can't wait for a release date - hopefully this year. Love the aesthetic/sound track and it looks like they've spent a lot of time balancing the gameplay and creating a great world.

Looks brilliant, never even heard of it until last night. Gonna buy axiom verge on Monday after the raid tonight and work through that. As a big fan of fez and rogue legacy hyper light drifter could be on my small must buy list of mgs, ff15, axiom verge and sf5.

I had totally forgotten about this, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the Kickstarter when it was first up. Glad things seem to be going well, as it looks like it could be pretty great!

Yeah development seems to be going well..they've had some public testing but people are just pining for a release date now. It was supposed to be late 2014. The soundtrack is by Disasterpeace, who did Fez's too, so you know theirs gunna be some awesomely atmospheric synth going on.

GiantBomb did a piece on this a while back. Looks pretty cool, great art syle.

Just got Axiom Verge this morning.. gunna be a good one i think.

New trailer and finally a Spring 2016 launch window, pretty glad to see it's actually making progress!

They are showing at PAX too so I hope to see a bit more gameplay

@kyleforrester87: AWESOME. I was checking up on this a couple weeks ago and disappointed to see the lack of meaningful news, so it's great to see a launch window be set!

According to their kickstarter update they will be trying to get it out on PC first with consoles to follow. Hopefully it'll make it for next Summer, then.

@kyleforrester87: shame it's still got such a long way to go, but at least it's looking like it'll be worth the wait. I gather that one of the main guys behind the game has had a pretty rough time with health issues though, so I guess it was to be expected that there might be some delays along the way :/

Still, new trailer looks the business though. Loving the Zelda / Transistor crossover vibe of this game, and I'm confident it's going to deliver.

Looking forward to playing the Vita version, hope the guy recovers well, health comes first.

Hmm according to the preorders section it'll be out on 26th July which is pretty neat.

I'm looking forward to the game. I don't really understand the Legend of Zelda comparisons, as this game looks like it'll be much more action oriented and less exploration/puzzle style. But I haven't played the game yet, of course.

@Kidfried: Maybe it's just the top down view with a sword! I do believe there are zones (6 I think?) that you can approach in whatever order you want with a hub

Wasn't this supposed to hit the PS3 as well or has the developer decided to do the popular thing of breaking promises to their backers?

@Rukiafan7: I've just had a look at their Kickstarter page - I don't see any mention of a PS3 version. They do talk about a PS Vita version, which will probably take a while to materialise.

They'd be stupid to not release it on the PS3 if they even release it on the Ouya... :')

That's good to hear! I'm looking forward to this game.

The soundtrack is up on Spotify, just listened to a few tracks, it's really good. Going to hold off until I've played the game though.
