@Ralizah I was just sitting down and playing some NieR when I got bombarded by news on Twitter regarding that. Absolutely crazy. And Mega Man X collection (with all 8 games) to boot! I think this is definitely the right time to start playing through all the main 2D side-scrolling games.

@KratosMD Yep. So Xbox One, PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch owners will soon have access to all mainline Mega Man games, all Mega Man X games, and Mega Man 11, which looks like the game Mighty No. 9 supporters were hoping to get.

Capcom did everything right by Mega Man fans today. Only way it could have been better is if they had revived Legends 3, but, well, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

@Ralizah I'm fine with a port of Legends too. I don't believe there's a way to play it legally on any of the current systems, it's not on Steam either.

@Fight_Teza_Fight I just hope that most big 2018 releases (Spider-Man, Detroit, Red Dead Redemption 2 etc.) are not clustered next to each other around that time in the Spring, just like how it was this year. I remember playing Horizon for one week then I had to stop playing it because NieR came out. Then I stopped playing NieR after a couple of weeks because Persona 5 came out. It was annoying to say the least.

@KratosMD I was in a similar position and had NiOh on top of that as well. It really was mad and I think early next year is going to be even more packed- I've already lost track of all the games I want to play.
Hope Dragon Quest XI is a June-August game, cause January-March will be JRPG overload.

I'm even debating whether I want to pick up Dragonball FighterZ at launch as I would like to put some time into SFV's arcade mode.

So I just watched the Death Stranding trailer and I'm pretty much convinced at this point that this will be the best game that the PS4 will offer ever. Kojima is on a whole another level of creativity, which seems to be the case with a lot of Japanese developers these days (with e.g. NieR and Danganronpa), and I'm absolutely loving it. Games like these are what I will always prefer first and foremost, because they deliver experiences that I've never had before. And so far, Death Stranding seems to be that type of game that will offer the best creative and unique experience available on PS4. So personally, I can't really see any other game that has been announced thus far that will top that. It just looks so good and interesting and different.

The Death Stranding trailer was cool but I need to see how the game plays before I get too excited.

@kyleforrester87 I feel like it's going to be similar to MSG in ways, third person shooter with stealth mechanics. Hiding from shadow monsters and shooting Mads Mikkelsen's skellington army.

@Octane I tend to agree since that type of gameplay would have to compensate the presumably long cut-scenes the game will have. It needs to feel like the player spends a lot of time doing stuff in-between cut-scenes and since stealth gameplay extends game time because, you know you play it slow, it'd be the perfect pick .

Either that or JRPG and I can't see this game being that at all.

@KratosMD The next question is: linear or open world?

Octane

KratosMD

@Octane Definitely open world. Kojima would be mad not letting the players explore this bizarre world of his freely on their own.

Th3solution

@Octane @KratosMD And what’s with the floating in the air and then being underwater? And carrying around an artificial womb with a fetus— Are all women extinct in this dystopian future? Very un-Kojima like if so. Maybe the baby is like the last human fetus on the earth and you have to protect it ... in your throat.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Octane

@Th3solution Maybe it's just some psychedelic alternate reality in which everything is possible?

So I've watched the Death Stranding trailer for the third time now and the concept seems to revolve around the circle of life and Big Bang. Norman Reedus' character keeps mentioning how one explosion 'gave rise to life as we know it' and how there came another explosion. And the things that cause the explosions seem to be those giant creatures where their heads explode, causing a 'mini' Big Bang. After that the world becomes renewed but the humans are still remaining, which leads me to think that time is still continuous and that the world never truly ends for them. It just reboots every time a 'mini' Big Bang occurs, which makes for a really interesting concept throughout the game.

So I haven't been actively following PSX but I'm currently rewatching panels from it and I gotta say that this setup has been very interesting. It hasn't been all about trailers or gameplay but the guys behind the games talking about their work and showing us the personal side of game development, which I feel like is a breath of fresh air. It made me have a lot more respect for these guys knowing the work they're doing to deliver the best possible experiences for us gamers.

The opening celebration was incredible, I really loved watching all these higher-ups from all the different Sony studios come out and talk together. It felt so genuine, you know. Not to mention the 10 years of Uncharted panel where all the major voice actors sat down and discussed the history and behind the scenes of the games and it was really refreshing and interesting. I will probably watch more panels as well later on (IGN Beyond and Ghost of Tsushima Interview are on my list right now).

So yeah, I mean a lot of people probably got disappointed because this show wasn't like previous years but I don't think that's a bad thing. It was different and refreshing and I gotta give Sony props for trying something new. Otherwise they would've just shown all the same trailers from E3, Paris Games Week etc with nothing really new to add and THAT would've made people even more disappointed.

One of the PSX news that slipped through the cracks...
The previously cancelled PSVita version of 2064: Read only Memories has been un-cancelled.
Available now this means that the game is now cross-buy as previously planned. So anyone that previously bought the PS4 version will now also get the Vita version.

Really glad they got it to work. Been holding out for a portable version, so I'll get it on Vita now.

Now I'm just waiting for the Cosmic Star Heroine vita port to get done. Bought the PS4 version on sale like 3 months ago, as it's cross-buy.
