Topic: Fifa18 or PES18 - Which is best?

Both games are on offer and reasonably priced i've never owned a football game but the world cup has stoked my interest,dunno which to get but would like to try one out before i go all full price and buy the 2019 versions in september!!

@unionjack3rd Generally, if its all about the game-play, then go for PES but if you care about having the right names, the right teams, the badges etc then go for Fifa. 2018 Fifa also has the World Cup I believe...

I imagine Fifa is better for noobs as PES can be a bit tricky to get the hang of.

Pes is by far the more rewarding game in single player. If multiplayer is your bag then go for Fifa.

Personally Pes 18 is the best footy game I have played in 10 years. It just works for me on every level as I predominantly play single player, even in my club my favourite mode was challenging the single player cups.

Either way both games are good and packed with content so you cant go wrong.

Online FIFA offline PES.

If you are choosing a game with the ambition of buying the 2019 versions, then I would look at what you want from a footy game - If its all the official licences and online, then go for Fifa but if its purely about having the 'best' footballing game-play then PES will probably be the better. Whether its significantly better for you to want to give up all the 'official' licenses, official teams, names, badges, stats and competitions - only you can decide but those that play both do prefer PES game-play overall but like virtually everything else they prefer Fifa on.

Both games drop so quickly in price that you could just buy both - or even the 2017 versions and try them yourself...

If you've never owned a footie game and are inspired because of the World Cup, I'd say go for FIFA because it's easier to get in to and has the World Cup add on. And this is coming from a PES fanboy

The official licenses never bothered me in PES cos you can just download fan made ones onto a usb stick if playing on PS4.

Every year the hassle is less and less, but can totally see how that is not some peeps bag.

I’ve gone with Fifa. Thanks for the help. The World Cup thing swayed me but PES does look really good.
