Alright Final Fantasy XV is coming out in less than 24 hours (but europe already got it so for the rest of us) this is a thread designed to bring people who are excited for this epic (or flop). You can also say your first impressions or overall thoughts of the game after the games released.

I actually tried the Judgement Disk Demo and I am fine with the gameplay since I live and breath Action RPG's but the rest Story, Environments, and Bosses will Have to wait for the final game.

@TheDoofingCritic: This might get closed in favour of the general FF thread, although hopefully not with it being its own/new game

Having played the JD demo most of my fears (poor technical performance, boring combat etc.) have been largely put to rest. I'm kinda concerned about the story but I've a feeling Kingsglaive is more or less compulsory viewing and then most of the plot will come toward the end of the game.

Just hope it doesn't bog itself down with boring side quests and needless running from way point to way point.

It's never going to be a FF7 or FF9 in my book, but can it come close?

That is to say, not all of the game is comprised of open world. As the game director Tabata confirmed earlier, there is a linear section in the last third of the game that puts the story front and center while the open world exploration takes a back seat. This might be a highly divisive part of the game as it doesn’t hold the same quality standard as the opening few chapters, but it still ends on a powerful note, so all is not lost. If I had to give it a percentage of the overall game, I will say that it barely makes up for 15% of the whole game. Once we are done with the main game, there is more post-game content that unlocks including potential secret dungeons and secret boss fights. The level progression carries over well to the post-game giving the player an ample amount of time to explore the world as they see fit, while discovering the new secret dungeons or boss fights.

@kyleforrester87: Interesting, but this is kind of true for many open world-ish games, at the end you're always guided in some kind of more scripted environment ... let's hope it's good!

I'm so hyped that I will essentially be buying this game twice. I found out last week that I would against all odds be getting Nov 29th (now to be referred to as FFXV Day) off work. Due to the brilliance of pre-load I've now purchased the digital premium edition with the season pass & will still be picking up my retail copy.

Square are going to make some serious bank of fanboys such as myself haha

@TheDoofingCritic: Yep still can't believe it. Now that I've gone digital as well I'll be able to play it the second I'm up with the Day 1 update.
Still need that retail copy for the shelf though =D
