@themcnoisy Then it's clearly not the disc but with the programming itself. I guess you can try contacting the developer and see if/when a patch will be released.

@Tasuki I think its the same issue I had with psplus nba 2k16. The update works the same way. It downloads the first update upto 8gb and the bar goes to 100%. Then straight after it downloads 1.10 and starts at 4.2gb until 8gb which is weird as the full 8gb prior download finished. Then installs 1.11 which is a smaller download.

This exact thing happened with nba 2k16 with loads of people (myself included). The game would never work properley and Im thinking anyone who had the game before update 1.11 will be fine as they are not having the same issues with the updates.

Thats a guess but I would put money on it.

Just to re-emphasise I can start the game and it works great making your character and running around but it crashes everytime in a round of golf. Ive changed every setting and tried it over 30 times on 2 different copies of the game. Its so frustrating and it has to be the updates as every other game I own works fine.

Right okay last chance for everybodys golf as its wasted too much of my life already. Ive just stopped and deleted the 1.11 update whilst the on disc version gets copied across. Theres definitely an issue as the initial 8gb download stipulates its the 1.11 update which at a later point switched to 1.10 which I think is causing the issue (thats a complete guess) and the ondisc game is the same size as the 2 updates at 8.777gb. So in essence my ps4 has 3 copies of the game at one time before it installs the game which is obviously an issue.

Im going to test the on disc version and start it up with no updates and see how far I get.

Then im going to download the latest patch which should be 1.11.

Then if it crashes again Im going to hit the disc with a golf club.

I can't see any other complaints like this. IMO it's more likely a somewhat latent fault with your PS4 and EG is doing just the right thing to trigger it.

@Tasuki I finished a round of golf woo hoo. Without the update it plays great. So now Im stuck, do I update and chance my luck or stick with the offline game?

@themcnoisy Good grief noisy, no game is worth this! 😂 I say purge your system of the infernal spawn of the netherworld and renounce any and all allegiance to golf.

I’ll say this much, whatever chance there was of me buying Everybody’s Golf has now been crushed by your experience. 😜

Its the update. My games just crashed again after the update.

@kyleforrester87 doubt it, the game works and plays bug free without the update. Crashes during a round of golf with the update. I dunno if you have played much after patch 1.11 but I cant do more than 3 holes as the game just freezes / crashes / hard crash. I cant see anything online either but Ive scientifically tested every possible scenario and its the update. The game worked brilliantly without the update I beat the first 2 beginners courses and then beat the first vs opponent (kakiro girl with dark hair). Then I installed the update and it crashes during a round of golf.

@kyleforrester87 if you get a chance mate could you take a look at your installed file size for everybodys golf for me when you get a chance over the next few days please? Im running at 19.32gb installed and I strongly believe the patch has messed up somehow. The game was exactly the same at 8gb install so no idea why its so bloated post patch. If I find out your install is a smaller figure Im writing to Sony to make them aware of it as it will only affect very late retail adopters (as in after the January update)
The latest patch 1.11 has 'implemented collaboration' which affects save files with retail game discs. So if you had the disc version and uninstalled the game. When you reinstall the game your save file wont work with that new install so you have to start a new game. The game tends to crash at points I would be awarded level ups with my clubs (power / accuracy etc) so after a good shot thats when the game freezes. Im thinking theres an issue as the game cant find my save file as Ive never had one before the patch. Sounds crazy but I genuinely think Ive found a pretty bad bug.
Of course this could all be invented in my head. But knowing that my install size is the same as yours will put that theory to bed.

@Th3solution I say buy it and join in the fun lol. I may grab the digital version if this is because of the 1.11 update and the fact im playing off disc post update. @Johncalmc has had no issues and he only got the game at xmas. So you know dont worry about my situation and see for yourself. Worst case scenario is you go on a mission of self discovery and perseverance. Best case scenario is you can actually play the game.

@themcnoisy Will have a look later - thing is I can't see any other complaints on the net/on reddit about crashes and you'd think it would be a wide spread issue if it was affecting everyone with a disc based latest version of the game?

@kyleforrester87 You would definitely. Thats why Im doubting myself.

As I mentioned if you have a saved game pre patch on a disc based version of Everybodys golf, the issues Im having wont affect you and it wont effect you at all with the digital version. This issue will only effect retail disc owners who have never played the game or made a save file until after the january patch.

Its just a theory bro. Most people would have quit by now but thats not my style (other than in Bloodborne).

@themcnoisy As a curiosity might be worth adjusting the visual settings, i think there is a 4K/HD toggle, and even try playing with your PS4 in offline mode.

Mine crashed once after it had been left in safe mode overnight but that is the only technical issue I've ever had with the game and I've played it for like sixty hours or something I would think.

@kyleforrester87 done it already. Theres 3 toggles on pro. 4K mode with varying frame rate, 60fps performance mode and standard mode which is 30fps. Done them all. Still crashes. Changed boost mode, changed output via pro to 4k, 1080p, 1080i. Still crashes.

Honestly mate its the game. No other game has broken on my pro, Ive had negligible crashes in mass effect andromeda and no mans sky but thats kind of expected.

It starts fine and only crashes in a round of golf after I install the patches.

Anyways Im over it now. Ive got a choice of either playing without the patch which is fine but you dont get trophies as they are all in recorded games and I wont be able to play online obviously. The better alternative is to trade it in with Persona 5 and grab Monster Hunter and buy Everybodys golf over the ps store.

@themcnoisy if it was the game I just think you'd hear more about it. Not saying your Pro is knackered either but not all components are built the same and it just might be that EG is doing something your PS4 doesn't agree with. It might crop up in other games too, but be so uncommon you've not put two and two together. One to keep an eye on perhaps, at any rate.

@kyleforrester87 roger that. Did you find out the file size on your install at all kyle? @johncalmc if your near your ps4 can I ask the same favour please. Just to tell me what your install file size on everybodys golf is.
