Topic: Early GOTY contenders

In December we will hopefully run the forum GOTY again, obviously our chance to vote on our favourite games. Last year a number of late entries scored highly, so I'm thinking it would be interesting to know what game stands out for you so far this year and if it will have the legs to win when when all the remaining games are released in the next couple of months?

For me the games in my thoughts so far are:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Furi
The Witness
Amplitude
Street Fighter V
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
No Mans Sky and
Ratchet & Clank.

Are we sticking to PS only releases?

Dark Souls III
Ratchet and Clank
Unravel

I still haven't picked up but would add a nod for:
Fallout 4
uncharted 4

My picks so far is Overwatch. However I am eagerly awaiting CoD MWRM, Mafia III and WWE 2K17.

The Last Guardian will probably join this list too.

The Witness, Uncharted 4, Inside, Hyper Light Drifter, Ratchet & Clank, Overwatch... There are a lot of great candidates for GOTY this year.

Yup, pretty much my shortlist, too.

Uncharted 4 is the standout for me, although a lot of the other highly rated games this year just aren't really my cup of tea.

Why don't we just end it now and declare Uncharted 4 GOTY cause we know it's going to win, which to me kinda makes a GOTY this year seem silly.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. I would also add Overwatch into the mix.

Because Dark Souls 3 is the clear winner

Probably a bit unfair to some that deserve mentions, maybe another vote just for the PS Plus games maybe?

As far as I am concerned, there is (so far) only one game that deserves Game of the Year - Uncharted 4!

That includes all games across all platforms - not just Playstation! Looking at what's releasing over the next couple of months, I can't see anything putting up a serious challenge to it either. Most of the 'big' games are your staple 'holiday' releases that, like summer blockbuster movies, will no doubt sell very well and be a lot of fun but ultimately won't win many major awards.
