Moved the conversation here @themcnoisy seeing as we're getting into the nitty gritty of dreams

I was already going to write it in a play like format once I've worked out what I'm doing so it'll be heavily dialogue based with minimal stage durections as to fit with a visual novel

I perfectly understood why you were saying it. I know it's a lot of work you'll have to do... Especially with one person.

I'm unfortunately not that type of creative... terrible at artwork and design. I either get my assistant to draw when it comes to teaching art class or I end up tracing things during lunch as preperation as otherwise it's stick-men lol :')

I hadn't really thought about a logo... My username is fine by me with Fox tails for the Y's I guess? (Told you I'm not artistically creative!).

Also are you sponsored by Dairylea? The title of your previous dreams creation and that video showcasing dunkers... Am I going to have to include a scene involving lunchables? 😂

So yeah 2 main characters, Due to my background I've always thought it interesting that the Captain isn't necessarily on board, in the story we could have a commander in charge who's a rank below whom might have no experience in proactive thought or another deficiency due to inexperience. Relying on information (sometimes bad) on how to run things from say a logistics officer or mechanical officer. I would want that as a back story though, the story is to be told through the main characters experience and the rumours and stuff that get spread in a small community of say 50-90 people on board (more or less depending on how you want to do it).

I quite like the idea that some characters have maybe implants to help with additional tasks - speed of thought, strength, helping negate tiredness etc. Nothing too crazy like flamethrower belly buttons though.

You could also throw in a backstory, like why the ship called x was leaving planet x after x crew were brought in as x had happened prior and the captain and various other experienced staff had to be taken off (maybe a virus or foul play by someone now on board)

Anyways got carried away there. The key is that spaceships are claustrophobic and you are limited in space to store your own stuff. There's a lot of politics involved day to day.

I forgot how damn good this thing is. I'm hoping I can get back to making my stupid little game soon

Heres a video which shows the layout of the track editor. Its one of my music tracks, mixed with another dreamers track, reworked by another dreamer again and then I fixed bits and mastered it, before release. What dya think? (it's a slow burn bear with it, the cmon is sampled from Streets of Rage).

In work, a colleague ruined an appointment (first of the day) and upset them. I came along and sold 2 cars. Boom. I'm the second mouse.

As for the story... Ya know I had a weird feeling today this would come up 😅

I've been having a bit of a dry spell writing anything lately to be honest (my attempts at my Divinity review for example have gone exceedingly poorly so far and really not up to snuff). I'll admit I did get a bit distracted by Christmas and work (and of course gaming as well) but this endeavour was on my mind constantly.

I never could quite get it right though through my numerous attempts at it... You saying about a smaller scope project is a bit of a relief as I think I bit off more then I could chew!

What would you want/need to showcase in this tech demo as such? Will it be a different genre or is it still gonna be a visual novel type thing?

Also your latest track in dreams was pretty darn good!

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Whatever you have the time to write we will make. 5 minute demo, very short story. Just so we can can see if a bigger project is achievable.

Disappointed with the full release so far. I had to do the tutorials again and I think a Trophy has already glitched out

Weirdly (I had previously completed all intro tutorials and all of the sculpting, music and logic tutorials) a few are ticked but most are not. Very frustrating.

I have next week off work because of half term so I'll definitely dedicate some time for a few story ideas for dreams @themcnoisy

I'll try my best to work in a dairylea reference or two for ya as well! 😂

Hello Dreamers!
I'm going to cut to the chase:
I know the game's been out for about a day now, but I'm having a serious problem, and I'm not sure if it's just me. My game is always one Offline mode. I know for a fact that my console is connected to the internet as everything else works (I can even play online games) so the internet isn't to be blamed.
How do you go online with Dreams? I always have the icon on the top right corner of the screen in menus that say I'm offline or 'this feature is not available in offline mode' or something like that

Do you guys also experience this? Is there any way to fix it? I'm confused and I just love this game so much, I've been waiting so long.

I don't think I ever figured this one out, so what is stopping Dreams from becoming porn hub?

@Sam-Bridges Is it the latest version. I had to manually tell it update to get out of the early access version and into the full retail version.
