Topic: Dreaming about Dreams.

One of the games that i'm really excited about is Dreams. I'm really impressed about the possibilities that the game is promising, you can basically create every single genre on gaming with the tools available. On the last trailer, you can see a 3D platformer, a racing game, an airplane, 2D game like the classic LittleBigPlanet, etc.

Am I dreaming too much? Is it possible to create all of that with easy tools? I really liked the art style too.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a creative person, i was never interested on games like Minecraft or Terraria, but Dreams really looks special (even more that is an exclusive, haha).

Anyway, let's share some ideas of games or videos, yes, you can create only an animated video with Dreams if you like.

I was thinking about something like Sony Avengers or League of the Greatness, I always wanted to see all the Sony characters together, All-stars Battle Royale was a great start, but Sony now has so many new characters.
I believe that it should be two universes, one for the mascots like Ratchet and Sly Cooper, and another for characters like Nathan Drake and Kratos. I don't know, would be strange to see Knack and Sweet Tooth fighting together, not complaining about All-stars though.

What type of game it could be? I have no idea, lol, maybe an ultimate 3D platformer for the mascots.
Who would gather the dream team? Shu Yoshida, of course.
Maybe just a video with Kratos, Nathan Drake, Aloy, Joel and Ellie, Spider-Man (he is on Sony team now), Solid Snake alongside, and so many more, who knows?

I'm not a creative person, but I'm so excited to see what the community will create.

As for my vision of Dreams (campaign- before being shown off)...
Some evil entity drags you into a Nightmare, it chases you as you jump through classic PlayStation levels to get to the final boss.
Imagine diving into a dream and you find yourself hanging of a train draped over a cliff. Instead of making it, the train and yourself fall off the cliff...straight into Crisis Core's train scene...

Man the possibilities.
If it becomes fully playable in VR & the game receives the support I think it will receive, then the sky's the limit.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Your idea sounds awesome. Imagine one stage is The Last of Us and the next is Bloodborne, I'm still terrified about the crazy people living in the world of Bloodborne, lol.
FF VII being made on LBP 3 is really impressive indeed, the community of MediaMolecule games is really creative.

@KratosMD If we can play classic 3D platformers like Super Mario 64, Banjo and Spyro, I will lose my mind. Let's be honest, games like Banjo will not receive a new entry anytime soon, maybe never, so Dreams could be an instrument for fans to recreate these series.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up. It sounds too good to be true.

I never could get into the creation stuff on LBP. Never understood the enjoyment of Minecraft, or other such games that require creativity - although I consider myself more creative than the average Joe.
That said, I have a definite curiosity about this game. If nothing else, it may be fun to play everything else that the community creates.

They're playing an older build, but much of what we've seen recently is in place, and they create some really impressive stuff in short spaces of time. I've watched most of them. I just find the whole thing fascinating.

Im hoping all of the tools and design packs are available with the base game, and theres maybe a few difficulty based options for editing. I for one dont care about lighting, physics based contect senstive animations or AI routines when I cant even get a character from point a to point b. Thats my biggest issue with design light games with big scope, you just want a door to open or menu interface to behave properley and somethings stopping it or not working and the whole thing falls apart.

I'm going to make Death Stranding and release it before the official one.

What about a single player Star Wars game, or a SOTC with 24 colossi?

I bet some developers have got teams of lawyers ready and waiting for this one. It'll be interesting to see what gets shut down and what doesn't. My dream is that someone remakes Shining Force III, including parts two and three which were never released in English.
Someone will try and make P.T. I reckon and Konami will be their usual understanding, co-operative selves.

I'm very excited for this. A little worried most people won't get what its all about. But I'll be getting it on release no matter what.

@Octane What about a game that you need to escape a mental health institution, crazy (and awesome) people like Kojima, Yoko Taro, Suda and Tarantino are also there. Your party needs to fight doctors and you should take pills to not go full crazy.

@Gremio108 Shining force 2 on the MD was brilliant, I never had a chance to play Shining force 3 unfortunately and the fact its part 1 of 3 unfinished put me off trying to procure a copy.

There will be a lot of attempts to remake other games within Dreams. LittleBigPlanet was full of them - I remember playing levels based on Super Mario Bros, Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1, Shadow of the Colossus, Dead Space, and a lot more besides. I have no doubt in my mind that some very talented creators out there will try to make 1:1 recreations of their favourites.

@Quintumply The Dead Space level in LBP3 was really fun. Much of these levels based on other games, like the Arkham game, felt a bit shallow. I hope we'll get to see some great level design in Dreams.

And I hope we could maybe get a monthly feature on Push Square, or maybe just the forums, with recommendations for Dreams levels.

I liked LBP, but I found the controls always so floaty, that it was hard to really make cool levels. I hope this one has better controls.
