@ApostateMage: Haha yeah I enjoyed that too. Hate that guys voice acting, though.

The lip sync is pants but I don't really mind, its never been a huge problem for me in games. It is a bit more noticeable how bad it is after playing games like The Witcher, though.

Cant wait to see what CDPR do with the Cyber Punk game they are making!

Damn this game is good, just done The Rucker Extraction section, stealthed my way in and blew my way out. Loved it.

I urge everyone who picked up the game to do the side missions. Some of the best ones I've seen - long, detailed and well written. In an era where side quests usually mean doing some repetetive, boring chores, this is a great reminder of how you do this thing the right way. Some of them can be harder to find, but you can miss whole great chunks of the game if you do not explore the world. I've just learned that I've missed one major part of the story, just because I decided to finish one quest in a particular way and that's kinda cool.

@Lurker: Definitely agree about the side quests being well written, so much so that i'm wondering around Prague looking for more before i crack on with the main missions.

Do citizens who 'panic' count as an alert? I keep reloading saves because i'm unsure. I've also read that the Tesla aug is bugged and could alert guards.

Just done a mission where Jensen helped a murder case. So good.

Agree about the side missions as well. A lot of times there's throw-away nonsense but I'm really liking the ones in this game. I also liked a lot of what Human Revolution offered, so I'm not too surprised.

I finished it last night, definitely my game of the year so far.

A tip for anybody going for the 'The Foxiest Of Hounds' no alerts trophy, failing a hack (the trace reaching zero and locking you out) counts as an alert. I wish i'd have known before i started, think i failed two throughout my game. Ah well, time for another playthrough on the 'I didn't ask for this' setting.
Speaking of trophies, don't forget to watch the whole credits for a secret scene, you get a trophy for it!

Spoiler alert
So what do you think of the ending? A lot of reviewers pointed about that the ending sucks, some even suggested that the game is half finished and crap like that. While I think it could've been done better (the recaping of events via Eliza was kinda dull) I think it had a clear last act (London) and a conclusion. Maybe people expected it to end with Jensen taking down the Illuminati...I dunno but it definitely not as bad as some people make it to be.

@Lurker: I thought it was fine, it didn't exactly blow my mind but it was satisfactory. It was just a joy to actually play it, especially a lot of the side missions. I think (and hope) that there will be another game.

I hope the upcoming Human Revolution movie is one of the better films based on a game. Like Nathan Drake, though, Jensen wouldn't be Jensen without his iconic voice.

Currently on mission 9 and doing the odd side mission, really great game so similar to HR it's like putting on a pair of comfy slippers though the game has the tendency to suffer from slowdown.

My main problem with the ending is that it clearly sets up a follow up, while the devs themselves don't even know if they'll make a sequel. I guess it'll depend on the sales, but seeing how much negativity there is around the game concerning the DLC, micotransactions (which is crazy, since you don't need to buy anything to enjoy the game) I'm kinda worried.

Still loving the game, havnt cleared it yet so afraid to read this thread

I assume there will be story DLC, like the missing link? Perhaps this'll take place after the main game? Or maybe between games (filling in how you got your mystery augs)

New patch, seems to have fixed some of the frame rate niggles.. For me anyway...

Good to know, I'm already itching for a second playthrough (wanted to start it basically the day after I've finished it, a mark of a truly great game).

I was watching Jim Sterling's latest jimquisition earlier and it was about him obtaining insider knowledge with regards to Deus Ex 's development, of course you need to take it with a pinch of salt but it makes for compelling listening. It seems that the microtransactions were a last minute addition to the game, with the devs just 2 weeks from submission before Square Enix jumped in wanting it added. More interestingly, Mankind divided was meant to be a much bigger game but Square wanted to chop it up into a Mass Effect trilogy style thing instead, which might go someway to explaining the game's sudden ending.
By all accounts there's two developers making Deus Ex games. Deus EX NG1 (which is Mankind divided) and Deus Ex NG2 which is it's sequel which began in 2015. As for Breach mode, if this developer is to be believed, it was added against the team's wishes so Square threw together a "live" team that they can dictate the F2P elements they wanted into the mode. The reasoning for this was Square believed that gamers might find Mankind divided's campaign a bit "stale". Plus on a budget of $70m the game needs to sell about 3m units to see profit. If even half of this was true then it sounds like Eidos Montreal did an incredible job of delivering the game they did despite Square Enix.

@adf86: I wouldn't be surprised if that was all true. You could tell it had been sliced up because there was no reason why the 'bonus' extra mission couldn't have been in the game. I hate it when publishers force developers into adding tick box features to games that don't need them.

Perhaps Square were somewhat right to do so, after all it didn't perform as well as HR (so far) even though it's been well received by critics and I personally love it. Perhaps they weren't convinced they had a hit on their hands.

Ahhh. I suppose I don't necessarily mind what happened as long as we get more Deus Ex

I'd say all the nagativity and potentially weaker sales were spawned by Square-Enix, rather than Eidos Montreal or the game itself being bad or dissapointing. People were really irked by the pre-order thing, and then the DLC items, microtransactions...
