Came across a copy of this on the way home today and just had to get it - anyone else going to be picking this up? I can see why the last one might not have gelled with everybody but I got really absorbed by it. Hoping they've fixed some of the problems in this one.

I got lucky at a local indipendant shop, I think quite a few copies are out in the wild at the moment and reviews should be coming out tomorrow I believe?

This is my MGS replacement to be fair.

@kyleforrester87: Got it preordered. Loved Human Revolution, especially after the directors cut, hoping for more of the same.

You're so lucky! How is it? I still need to complete the first...probably re-started it a dozen times at least. My biggest issue has always been the relatively stiff gunplay...I always wished it played more like Syndicate (2012) in that category.

Make it a great day!

Awesome look forward to it. I won't have much time to play it until the weekend, seems like more of the same so far which is great in my book.

@kupo: Play it stealthily, it's a much better game that way (besides the boss fights).

@ApostateMage: I do like to play it stealthily but I still prefer to do it killing people Gotta love them silenced headshots!!!

Do love the brutal non-lethal takedowns though, headbutts in particular haha

I'd like to say I'll play it a couple of times each way but honestly as much as I absolutely loved HR I had no desire at all to play through it all again once I was done.

It's also weird being in a world that isn't procedurally generated after hammering NMS for the past couple of weeks lol.

Has anyone had trouble getting the day one DLC? I put in the Square Enix code on their website, then I should receive a PSN code but so far nothing on either my email or the site itself.

So I havnt played this much as I have been busy but what do we all think? Much like the first I didn't love it initially but now I'm getting going with it I'm finding my groove. I will say Prague is no where near as cool as Detroit, though, and I do miss all the yellow hues..

So after a couple of days of playing I'm still impressed by Mankind Divided. I really hope the game sells well, because seeing the amount of work that went into it, those guys clearly deserves it. It just begs to be explored and rewards you for it, both with experience, items and side quests. It also serves as a reminder of the advantages of hand crafted method of devising environments, in contrast to most open worlds and computer generated worlds (as in No Man's Sky). It is really full of details, environmental storytelling, voiced NPC's, secrets, lore and such. My advice would be to take your time and try soak up as much as you can, I think this is the way the game meant to be played.

Gameplay-wise it's an improvement over HR in almost every way. As expected, there are several ways of approaching quests, and you can experiment a lot with the equipment and augmentations. It's definitely fun to be stealthy, can't say much about the gunplay, but it at least seems solid.

In terms of story it's fun and engaigng thus far but there are many new factions, organisations and individuals to learn about and info thrown at you, so I can understand it can get confusing for some players who just blitz through the main storyline. That's where exploration comes in (tip: visit a guy standing next to a big board in your task force headquarters if you wanna quickly learn about all the major and minor players).

As far as the nagatives go:

  • some minor incoherences (like an optional conversation where someone indicates you did something that you didn't in your playthrough)
  • character models (moajor ones are fine, but some of the minor ones really stand out)

The lip sync in the game is hilariously awful, hopefully they'll patch it.

I'm currently going for a no kills and no alerts playthrough but i've forgotten what actually counts as an alert. Does having a 'suspicious' status when enemies are searching for you count?

No, they have to be alrmed. They even give you tips on how to turn making them suspicious into you advantage (like throwing and object somewhere etc).

I've been alerted quite a few times but I haven't killed anybody, yet.

I can't believe this game has microtransaction.

Really getting going with this now, it's class. Still wish the shooting was a bit more solid though. It is a lot better, but still I'm uneasy going for silenced headshots half the time.

I laughed out loud when i failed to save an agent in the opening mission and Jensen got called a f**king bellend!

The lip sync seems okay at certain times but i guess you get used to it. I'm too busy looking at the Alpha, Beta and Omega analysis to notice.
