So I was able to finally sink some time into this today and I am enjoying it alot. Now mind you I never played the original so I can't compare it to that but overall it's alot of fun. I do like the slower pace compared to say Black Ops III and everyone isn't moon jumping around you like a rabbit on crack. I just need to play around with the weapons a bit more and get more familiar with the maps.

@Tasuki: Try the M16 with stopping power (not that its needed) but its probably the best gun in the game - stopping power makes it deadly against noobs running around with Juggernaut.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy: That's what alot of my friends have been saying too. According to them it's pretty O.P. I have been using the first smg that you start out with alot today and have been running juggernaut with that.

@Tasuki: the M16 can probably melt you in the range of the SMG's with just 1 burst. The difference is, it continues to melt at almost sniper ranges too! Its a beast and quite possibly the most OP weapon in any CoD game - stopping power just adds to that lethality and melts those running Juggernaut as well...

Decide to try out Old School mode and what a blast I had with that. Gameplay wise it felt like Halo or Doom but for CoD it felt kinda fresh and new.

So maybe this is me, but I find that Moden Warfare seems to be more of a sit back camp and take a shot more so then running around the maps like say in Black Ops. I have found that most of these maps with the exception of Shipment and Vacant, I keep getting picked off by snipers whenever I try to do an smg class. Not sure if it's just me not knowing the maps really well yet or what. It's not a game breaker for me, just something I seem to notice.

yeah @tasuki its a slower pace all round. Except shipment lol. I notice the more wasted I get as the night wears on I camp more and more and if your playing domination it works well. you cant really run and gun constantly in this game which is what i like. It more tactical. Playing on your own makes it harder but with a few guys communicating you can own the maps. I love Overgrown and backlot. Crash is awesome too I suppose although playing domination capturing B in crash can be a real pain lol I normally play domination if you hadnt of guessed lol

FYI: Play a private match now and again and learn the map and you'll find all the maps apart from shipment have loads of wee spots that you find that work well to get your airstrikes and Heli's.

Oh 1 more thing I find works great. Once you get the heli die before calling it in. It will normally get your killstreak back up to at least airstike again helping you get heli and rinse and repeat. Sometimes you can rack up 30,40,50 or more kills in a match doing that. especially if you time it right. no point calling in heli or airstrike if a round is about to end. Save for start of next round. Just my 2 cents.

@Tasuki: Definitely felt the pain of snipers in this game more than any other, and yeah I definitely found myself standing still a lot more and waiting for enemies to come to me than in other MP shooters. I'm finding it really enjoyable though and a different experience to most other MP shooters out at the moment. I find I'm getting better in the rounds as I slowly learn the maps and good spots to crouch and wait for runners by.

@Hego: Yeah I found that out too in Vacant but I hate just sitting around waiting, I honest get bored doing that haha. Still if I want to get good at MWRM I guess I will have to do that.

@TomKongPhooey: Good advice but so far the only Killstreak I have been able to get is the UAV.

the problem with snipers is the first sniper gun. The M401 or something. There was a bug in the first one were you dont even need to scope in to get a kill. The hit detection also picks you up even if they aren't aiming directly at you. It also normally one shot kills ppl even tho none of the others do, even if you get shot in the foot, hand or it misses by a few inches. It still picks it up as a direct hit. It's only that gun, these ppl are all using. I thought it would have been fixed before they rereleased the game but they didnt. It was a pain in the first game and it's a pain in the remaster. You get used to staying out of snipers way and throwing smoke grenades to run across open areas.

@Strofan7: It allows it to a point. If you and a friend create a split screen group on the same PS4 you can both play online, I have been doing that with my son. However when I tried to invite a friend of mine who's online to our group it won't let him join unless, my son drops out.

@Strofan7: They might update that here soon, Modern Warfare Remastered is getting a free update in a month to add the rest of the maps so maybe they might fix that as well. I am not sure if it's a bug now or just not in the game.

If this happens then I can happily say Activision will never get another penny from me. £80 for this game (i wont be paying IW) I was happy to pay and as we speak am happy with my investment to get an old classic but if I end up owning a microtransactional version of MW and not what was sold to me then farewell Activision. I'm already not a great fan of this company these days. This will just finalise things for me. Lets hope they don't mess around with this remaster as it's a masterpiece as is.

Finally got to sink some time into the MP Its just like I remember in a lot of ways but I can definitely see why a lot of that no longer remains! Thankfully!!! Last Stand, martyrdom etc. I don't think this can compete with the modern games. I played this non stop for nearly 2 years as I wasn't such a fan of W@W but within a few matches, It was already beginning to irritate. Saying that though its still makes you want to play to try and unlock a certain weapon. It really does feel slow and plays slow too - Not one match reached the score limit, campers with claymores.
I wish infinite Warfare played like Titanfall 2 (or even Black Ops3) as that would make IW so much better. Take away the BS of Rigs, variants etc and speed up the flow of the movement, it would (in my opinion) make Modern Warfare feel much more like a game from 10yrs ago

@BAMozzy: I don't know, I prefer the much slower style of game play MW offers. Maybe it's due to my reactions being a bit too slow for IW and other games with flying jumping mechanics or what. But honestly towards the end of BO3 there I was just getting bored of it and mainly it was due to not being able to keep up with everyone wall running and jumping around.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoy BO3 and IW isn't as bad as I thought it would be but those games I am good playing them for an hour or so before I get annoyed with the mechanics. Now MW I can easily play for hours on end.

@Tasuki: Maybe its because I have been playing CoD since this game and FPS games for so many years that I find this so old. Its not just the movement though, its a lot of the BS that also goes along with it - things like Last stand, martyrdom, campers and claymores, etc etc. Back when the game launched, a lot if it felt new and fresh although still got annoying very quickly. Robert Bowling got lynched (metaphorically) a few years after for saying last stand was no more and it ended up still being in the game. So much of what the community really hated about CoD started in this and now most of it doesn't exist any more.
One of the things that people complained massively about with the IW beta was quickscoping and that wasthe main focus of the changes for the release. It all started though in Modern Warfare (although MW2 perpetuated it further with youtube montage videos of snipers running round as if they were shotgunners and then trying to get some jump 360 no-scope killcam). The ability to equip Steady Aim and a Sniper though helped people run around quick/no scoping.
It was this that also made me leave 'core' modes as you had little/no chance at any range if you had a SMG/AR/LMG even if you got the first shot or 2 in. At least in Hardcore that meant you would actually win the fight.
Everything that people don't want in CoD is in MW and started in MW. I know its a classic, and I don't regret buying the remaster (the campaign alone is worth it) but I get fed up with the slow pace (no match actually reaches the score limit as most are just camping) the BS like martyrdom and last stand etc etc etc
Each to their own of course. I have done my time on MW in the past but think IW and TF2 are far more exciting. TF2 movement feels more slick and polished but I still prefer MW's campaign. Not played IW's campaign yet to compare.

@BAMozzy: I can definitely see where you are coming from especially with things like Last Stand and martyrdom quickn scoping too for that matter. I don't know I guess I am just not that good at FPS games like CoD and just can't keep up with the core players.

As much as I watch You tube videos and get tips and tricks from people like you on forums and just friends of mine outside of forums for whatever reason it just doesn't sink in. I mean I know what to do to improve but for some reason I just dont, still it doesn't mean I don't have fun with the games. But for some reason I find MW a bit easier for me b.s. aside like quick scoping and such.

I prefer the pace of MW. I'm closer to Tasuki's reaction levels (I guess) and to quote a famous Lethal Weapon line. "I'm getting too old for this sh*t"

MW at least lets my brain and hands react in time. Anything after W@W or MW2 and I just started to be unable to keep up, every game it seemed to get worse. By the time BO3 arrived I had virtually gave up on COD because I couldn't keep up with the faster guys and in a game like COD it shows so much when your reacting slower. You have to compensate with harder hitting guns or perks etc. I can deal with the old problems raising their head in MW also just so I can play at a pace where I see me in the top 3 more regularily after a game instead of always bringing up the rear. I'm not ready to stop playing FPS's yet but I know Im slowing too much for the industry now. I sound like Im ancient, Im only 40 this year but it speaks volumes lol

@Tasuki: The main point of CoD and any game is to have fun so as long as you are enjoying yourself, alls good! Unfortunately CoD can also have an ultra-competitive player base who uses anything that will give them any advantage - like a decent headset that offers 360degree sound with amplified footsteps and Scuf controller so they never have to waste precious milliseconds reloading or jumping and keep that thumb on the stick.

The headset is essential to doing well, as is practice but don't forget, most of the CoD players on MW have the advantage of knowing these maps better than they know their own street! They have been playing CoD for 9years. They know which weapons and set-up is best for each map, play-style etc, best places to put claymores to stop you getting near them and how to exploit the Map too (like holding and throwing grenades to kill players on spawn or capture points). Couple that with the Headset, they know where you are long before they see you in a lot of cases too...

Anyway as long as you enjoy, that's the most important thing.

Incidentally I don't think age matters too much. I am 44 now and prefer the faster pace of Titanfall 2 and the recent CoDs. TF2 is actually faster in movement although the kill times are slower for me but then I do prefer to play Hardcore CoD rather than 'core'. Its not just the movement though but the way the game flows etc too. In Modern Warfare Hardcore Kill Confirmed, A game where collecting Tags matters and therefore camping is not a great or successful strategy to win - Not one game I played finished before the timer ran out. Most matches ended up with around 30-35 tags winning with the highest kills around 18-20. Playing Hardcore Kill Confirmed in BO3 for example rarely lasts the full 10minutes as the score limit is reached and the 'best' slayers have double or more Kills. In MW, everyone is sat in corner, led down somewhere, inching round the map in case they get claymored, sniped or noob tubed. Rarely do you see the enemy unless you happen to be looking in the right direction as they scurry off to their favourite camping spots. If you happen to be the one scurrying to collect a tag or flank, you are the one picked off by a camper or a random claymore. Even if you do get the kill, chances are martyrdom (in Kill conformed its rife) will get you or they drop to last stand and pistol you - in hardcore is just one pistol shot and often you don't expect to have to shoot twice and they are a smaller target when in last stand than you.
