So I got into the PC beta and I love this game!!! It's alot of fun and something that I can enjoy. Sadly though my biggest hardship is using the mouse and keyboard to move and shoot. Last FPS I played on the PC was Doom way back in the day, since then I grew to accustomed to gamepads for GPS games still that has nothing to do with the game. Can't wait for this to hit PS4.

@Tasuki: That's cool! Seems like there are a lot of characters to cover, though. Are they all gonna be released before the game comes out?

@WanderingBullet: I am not sure what there schedule of release is. I believe the Web comic will be ongoing with the game, since the game won't have any story elements in it. Chris Metzen stated during Blizzcon 2015 that to tell the story during the game would put to many restrictions on gameplay, for example Tracer and Widowmaker I think her name is are enemies story wise but Blizzard doesn't want to restrict people who want to play them on the same team. So instead they will tell the story of Overwatch through other types of media instead.

Edit: Nice, I just watched the second movie and I enjoyed it as well. Looking forward to the rest.

@Tasuki: Is there any character that's catching you eye? I'm liking the look of D'Va at the moment, and of course Tracer because of British bias lol.

@adf86: I haven't played the beta in awhile, mainly cause I don't like FPS controls on a P.C.

Looks and gameplay wise from what I have seen in videos I like Reaper alot.

Winston reminds me so much of Grodd and Henry McCoy aka Beast. While his younger version looks a lot like those baby gorillas from Disney's 1999 Tarzan.lol I've only seen a couple of gameplay videos so I don't really have a favorite, yet. That said, the character designs in general in this game are quite nice.
The legendary skins in this game looks awesome as well! Disappointed that Overwatch is not a third person shooter.

I'm uber pumped for this, got it preordered on my ps4 and I'm eyeing Bastion because transformers. I'll spend a lot of time in the early beta if anyone wants to add me for a party on it

WanderingBullet

Yeah, I'll be trying out the open beta as well before deciding on whether I'll be buying the game or not.

@Bliquid Given the choice, I always go for physical versions so I can't answer your question, sorry. Having said that, I'm guessing they'll send you the code for the Beta via email.
By the way, what is Battle.net and do I have to create an account if I do decide to get the game?

@WanderingBullet: Battle.net is Blizzard's version of PSN or XBL you can say. I know you use it mainly for their PC games like WoW and Starcraft, Diablo III and Hearthstone and probably Overwatch on PC. Since the PC and console versions will never have cross play since PC players would have an advantage. If you are going with the PS4 version (or XBO) then it probably won't be a big deal.

I know that you can link Diablo III on PS4 if you have a Battle.net account to it but it's not necessary to play the game on PS4 or enjoy it. The same thing probably with Overwatch.

Since you don't have a Battle.net account it's probably safe to say you don't play Blizzard's other games so I wouldn't worry about it.

@Tasuki: Thanks. I thought it was something similar to UPlay.com and Resident Evil.net where you can redeem in-game content/rewards from it using points gained from playing their games.

@WanderingBullet: No its nothing like that, it's their online service like PSN. The goodies that @Bliquid mentions are stuff you get for preordering Overwatch in Blizzard's other games if you happen to play them as well. Like for example if you play Hearthstone, you get Overwatch cardbackings for your cards. I think you might get something for Heroes of the Storm as well but not sure. And as I said if you played the games you would have a Battle.net account so you can play them on PC.

I think you can get Tracer for Heroes of the Storm plus other stuff if you purchase the physical version as well.

Here's what stated on the item page on Amazon.com:

  • Unlock the Widowmaker Noire skin
Pre-purchase Overwatch and receive the special Noire skin for the deadly and ruthless Widowmaker. Clad in black and red, she stalks her prey like a venomous spider.
  • Origins Edition Features*
  • Overwatch - Hero Skins
Pay homage to the original Overwatch strike force by wearing the vintage skins Blackwatch Reyes or Strike-Commander Morrison. Explore other heroes’ origins with Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and even Slipstream Tracer!
  • Diablo III - Mercy's Wings
Slay demonic forces throughout the High Heavens and Burning Hells as you don Mercy's wings. All of Sanctuary will know of your allegiance to Overwatch!
  • World of Warcraft - Baby Winston Pet
Adorably cuddly and highly intellectual, the Baby Winston pet will be at your side as you fight your way through Azeroth.
  • Hearthstone - Card Back
Battle it out in Hearthstone with an Overwatch-themed card back fit for a hero!
  • StarCraft II - In-game Portraits
With brand new portraits of Tracer, Reaper, Pharah, Winston, Bastion, and Soldier: 76, you're sure to become a champion of the Koprulu Sector.
  • Heroes of the Storm - Tracer Hero
Jump into the Nexus with Tracer and surprise your enemies in the blink of an eye.

@Bliquid: Ah, I see and I get what you mean now. Personally, I think you'll get the digital stuff on the same day as the game's release date unless it says otherwise on the PSN Store. Maybe you could try contacting Blizzard through your Battle.net account just to confirm?
