Topic: Black Desert

Has anyone played this, either PC or XboxOne? I have been watching a few videos and it looks fun. It looks like it plays like a Dynasty Warriors game only online with more rpg elements. I know the pre-order starts next week.

If you like MMOs like World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online etc then you will probably enjoy it. I don't know how solo friendly it is though, like of it's one of those MMOs that you need a group to do everything.

@Tasuki I'm looking ps4 wise. ESO is ok, but Im not a fan of how they changed the progression. Black Desert looks fun and I'm even willing to pay premium if it's good. It also looks mostly solo, right up my alley. I'm mainly looking for a new rpg to pull me into until Pathfinder is released on ps4.

@Elodin There releasing Pathfinder on PS4??? That I did not know.

@Tasuki Yes, but no date yet. Promise of 2019 is all I know.

Pre-order available now. August 22nd release date. I think I'll give it a go

@arlingtontexas Why wait? A pre-order is just as good. Besides you can see gameplay and such on the internet.

I'm kinda interested but at the same time I'm still not sure mainly because MHW Iceborne's releasing two weeks later. Gonna wait for reviews first. Some of my concerns are how grindy is this game and also the servers. I've played games like FFXIV and Dauntless, and they can't be quite laggy sometimes. Would be great if they decide to release a demo/beta, though.

Can someone help me. does anyone know . if the version that is coming to ps4 is going to be the Remastered Version. or?

I played just over an hour of the beta. I like it. The bevy of move sets is a bit daunting, but fun when you figure them out. Not much of a tutorial for anything though. Many menus are buried, but I'm sure over time things will be easy to find. Leveling up skills seems easy, although I'm not sure if I should wait to unlock more before choosing. I have a standard ps4 and the performance is fine. No slow downs. The fan runs high many times. Overall first impressions are good.

I spent around 2 hours (probably 10-15 minutes spent on using a first name that wasn't already taken) on the beta playing as the Sorceress class. Combat was quite fun but the missions got quite repetitive after a while. I hope that's not the case for the rest of the game. Also the UI was very cluttered, imo. The game could do with some tutorials as well. Maybe I will get it sometime in the future but not day one.

@WanderingBullet I learned that holding L2 + left directional, brings up radial menu to remove chat window. I found that cleaned up the screen quite a bit.

I played about 5 hours total as a wizard. I enjoyed it enough to keep my $30 preorder. I can see the repetitive nature of the game make me stop often, but as a slow grind or hop in and out to play over time should be fun for me.

@Elodin That's good to know. Thanks. Yeah, that chat window does take up a big chunk of the screen. By the way, do you know if the servers separated by regions?

@WanderingBullet as far as I could tell yes the servers are seperated by regions, I wasn't able to test this in the beta though. I know you can't bring anything cross region or even server I believe. At least from what I could scour from the internet.

@Elodin Thanks. In that case, I'm going to do some research first (if I get the game) to see which server has the most English speaking players since I'm from SEA. When I was playing the beta there were different languages in the chat window.haha
