Virginia - really interesting little game with a Twin Peaks vibe. The entire story is told without anyone talking so you have to piece it together yourself. Lasts about ninety minutes.

The Bunker - cheesy horror FMV game that kinda proves the genre can actually work. Set in a nuclear bunker after the world goes to hell. Grim. Lasts about ninety minutes.

What Remains of Edith Finch - Walking simulator that constantly surprises with gameplay shake-ups and a super-interesting story about the grisly fates of numerous members of the same family. About two hours.

Inside - Fantastic indie platformer that tells a compelling story without any words, and builds atmosphere about as well as any game I've played. Maybe five hours.

@Th3solution I'd imagine it will be at some point next year but highly doubtful it'll be anytime soon.

Oxenfree - fantastic little game with a great story and top voice acting. Surprised in the ways it broke the fourth wall too. Prolly took me about 5 hours to finish, but I am quite slow in finishing games. Best going into knowing as little as possible about the story cos it is full of little surprises. Repayable too as your different decisions in the game effects which paths you take in the game.

@johncalmc I second Virginia! Really good game, although it might be to a certain taste because it's pretty abstract in places.

Superhot is really, really short (like 2 hours short) but is thrilling from start to end and such a cool concept for a game. I've heard good stuff about The Sexy Brutale, Valley and Undertale (there's a lot of pretentiousness surrounding it but again it's a really good concept.)

If you're counting strictly the campaign, then Titanfall 2 has a short campaign that's one of the best FPS campaigns in recent memory, and Hard Reset Redux is also another fun FPS that's been overlooked.

Downwell and Not A Hero are good shouts too - I'm pretty sure Downwell was free on PS Plus a few months back.

Just finished Rime. Great little game.

@Marknbham Cool. Surprised me with fourth wall breaking stuff. Something really weird happened early on, almost up there with Metal Gear Solid with a WTF moment.

@JohnnyShoulder , really enjoyed oxenfree, might even play it again.
Not sure if it qualifies for this thread but , I bought the wolf among us, and I'm really digging it. True graphic novel with the choices seeming to matter. And it gives the percentages of your choices like oxenfree

@Marknbham Cool. If you are enjoying TWAU you should try Tales From The borderlands and Life is Strange.

I recommend Wonderboy the dragon's trap. I played it on Switch and I think I could buy it again on PS4 too someday, it is that good. It's only downside for me is that imo it did not last long enough so it seems like a perfect fit for a thread like this.

Ah yes Wonderboy The Dragon's Trap is really good. Remember playing this on the Sega Master System so bought back some good memories for me. I like that you can switch between the original and new graphics and sound on the fly. I actually prefer the original soundtrack in some places. I too have it for Switch and plan to get for PS4 when it is next on sale.
