Topic: Battle Flow System & Mechanics

First I have to say that I am an avid God Of War fan. Having said that, God of War 4 has really let me down in the area of the Battle Flow and Mechanics. The Blocking and Dodging is very slow to respond when your skills you purchase is meant for a Last Moment Block tactics you can do. The story line was fabulous. But as for the Valkyries, I felt that the Queen Valkyrie was a little over done with Mechanics. 97% of the time fighting her, shes way to wickedly fast at evading to the point you can't hardly keep an eye on her. Not only that, 99% of her attacks are not blockable. Some of the Battle Flow is decent, but defensively it's an absolute nightmare. I have been on the Queen Valkyrie for the last 4 days and with the best gear, Level 8, everything upgraded and on Easy Mode. Im stuck on her and can't take her down due to the lack of Defense. Its almost as if Im wearing no armor or enchants at all. FRUSTRATING!!!!! You guys really made this fight a bit too hard, because even if you are lucky enough to block something you take massive damage. I've also found that Atreus is worthless here because even his strongest Runic Summons phase her little, and his Light and Shock Arrows do BARELY anything to her but tickle her. His gear is also of the best quality and fully upgraded. Knowing ALL Valkyrie fights is not enough here, but dumbing down this fight would also be key as well, as her successive attacks without let up give you little to no defensive recourse. Resurrection Stones of all types are useless here as well, because she kills you most of the time before you can get her half way down in health, and then when you Rez, its just an onslaught of attacks on you that you can't escape. Did I mention this was on Easy Mode? I did? Okay, just making sure that was understood and remembered . I know this seems like a lot of griping and complaining, but its such because of how failed the Defensive combat system is. Just one attack from her takes about 13% of your health away. So tell me something: If all this great gear you spent time grinding for in Niflheim is so great and now over 200 in Strength, Runic, Defense, and pushed other stats high as they can go like in Vitality, Luck, And Cooldown, then why does Kratos get hit so hard? All in all, a better Battle Flow and Mechanic System really should be integrated with this game and also the next one should it come out. Im now at the point i've put the game down and stopped having fun with it. I've mastered every single game i've ever played, and just cant seem to get this game beating 100% like i have every other game. Plainly put, the Mechanics for defensive actions are totally sloppy. And yes, i know i've said that too many times already, but I want it understood and taken seriously for more improvements.

On topic it is jarring when you get one of these sections of a game you just cant achieve. Stand outs for me include the challenge room trophy in the Witness (tried over 200 hundered times and got to the pillars about a dozen times), the sub menu fights in Yakuza Kiwami (dont get hit once in a 30 man fight on extreme), one of the neo bosses in Rogue Legacy (its like a quasi physics based shoot em up wtf) and get all gold trophy track mastery (due to my dreaded enemy Nurbergfeckinring.)

The similarity on every one of these challenges is - the difficulty could be adjusted to make it more fair. An extra 10 seconds for the witness, a few hits for kiwami, less health on the enemy boss in Rogue Legacy and a few more seconds on the nurburgring). As it stands they arent impossible obviously, but they become infuriating rather than fun. One mistake and its all over.

I suppose thats mastering the game, I would prefer trophies to be dolled out to the can "competently play the game and seen most of it" player base.
