If your looking to group up with someone else, discuss tactics or share your experiences with the game then here is the thread to do it. If your getting the game add me and we can go tame some dinosaurs, build a base and kill some other players.

I thought there would be a lot more interest in the game with there being a distinct lack of sandbox survival games on the PS4. Anyway the game is out today I think its at a good price point for base game and the expansion.

I would like to share my early thoughts on the game. First of all the scale of the game is impressive. I did not think that the game could be brought to PS4 but then again i thought the same for 7 Days to Die as well. The graphics and a big reduction on the beautifull game seen on PC which I think will dissapoint a lot of gamers at some points walking along the beach and looking in the distance was almost giving me a headache. Maybe because I am playing it on a standard PS4 or because at the time of first playing I had slow internet ( which is now faster) so will need to look at it agan.

The premise of the game you are stranded at a place fully of dinosaurs. Your naked and have to craft, kill, tame to survive. There are so many kinds of dinosaurs around you and you do not know which ones will kill you or just walk past. You soon learn who is friend and who is foe. You need to gather resources, build a base and craft weapons. You can kill the Dinosaurs or tame them. They will fight for you and with the right equipment you can also take a ride.

There is single player or upto 70 players when you log into the numerous servers. Some are Pvp, Pve or pvp and pve. You need to make a note of which server you are on so when you log back in you can continue with your progress. At time of writing bookmarking of servers is not working along with full listings of private servers.

Gameplay works well this is a true survival game and its the most brutal game I have played. It just throws you in and lets you work out everything for yourself. The community is good and will help out in chat if you get stuck. When you die you do not spawn where you just died it will be another place and you will have lost everything in your inventory. You have I think 12 minutes to find it again before its destroyed. Which would be fine but its not located on your map and neither are you. So you really have to take note of all yor surrounding all of the time. Later in the game as you get more technology you get GPS and some ther great gadgets which makes life easier. The start of the game is hard and you will really need to join a tribe to not only survive but thrive in the game. Like with all survival games you pick up new crafting skills as you progress. The base you build will get stronger.

I got trolled by the same dinosaur last night which killed me about 10 times. Died from over heating, lack of food, got killed by fish, snakes, dinosaurs. Fell off a cliff whil walking at night which really is truly dark without a torch its impossible to see. You can freeze to death as well when it gets cold. If you can think it you can probaly die from it. Even though you die and I mean you will die so much it will want to make you rage quit this game is so much fun to play. But you need to put the time into the game to get what yo want from it. Its reasonably priced at £30 for the base game. But for me the expansion DLC plays better than the base game which if you buy it as a bundle costs £40. Seperatly its £15

Did not play Pvp but do not be suprised if you get killed or knocked unconscious and kept in a cage until you die or they feed you and let you go.

@dryrain: I'd like to know something about the single player experience. Is there any story or is it completely open? Are there bots and npcs when playing offline? Thanks!

@andreoni79 The single player does not have a story its about surviving and evolving getter better housing, weapons, taming more dinosaurs and exploring to harder areas of the map. The map is very large. I have not played single player just because the game seems a lot better when you have others to join your tribe and help you out. As far as I know there are no npc but there are huge amounts of dinos. I play on a PvE server so its friendly rather than being competitive. Any more questions just ask.

@dryrain: Thanks for your reply. I read they are gonna release a retail version in Spring 2017 so I'll wait to see how it will work then.
