I purchased a used version of Metal Gear Solid 4 the other day and while I don't remember this happening at first, when I loaded my file today I got a message saying that trophies cannot be obtained on the file and that I would need to start from a new game in order to receive them. Is there a way to fix this without deleting my save data?
I imagine it's because Trophies were patched in. You probably started the game before Trophies had been added, and consequentially, there's probably not a way around this.
Ah, I see. The Internet did go down before I started playing so that explains it... Oh well, I don't think it will bug me too much.
Yeah if you didn't have the patch installed before you started the game, you would have to start again to be able to unlock the trophies.
It's not really an issue though - I played the game long before there were any trophies, and it is still one of my favourite games on PS3! Hope you enjoy it

@SteveButler2210 I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I just started the series with the HD collection last year and ended up buying Revengeance earlier in the month and just recently got this. I'll probably get Ground Zeros when it goes down in price to $10.
