@Simon_Fitzgerald I find it weird that every game affects people differently. Some friends really struggled with Eve Valkyrie but I feel fine. I was also fine with Here they Lie. Oddly the worst for me was the Rise of the Tomb Raider mission - I tried it without teleportation and thought the world was ending.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

I picked up Eve Valkyrie and RE 7 on Black Friday sale. Maybe I'll have time to play them someday.

@Rudy_Manchego Eve was one of the first games vr games I played and I felt really bad. The minute you are free to travel wherever you want bluergh.

Ive bought a few vr games now and the ones I was expecting to like - Eve, Driveclub and Luge are the worst experiences. I dont suffer as badly as some articles elsewhere. But I feel an imense urge to stop playing as Im not comfortable.

Im gonna stick with single room experiences like static and the pong vr worlds game. They are a ton of fun, hugely immersive and you dont notice the blurry details towards the horizon.

@themcnoisy Yeah, when I have friends over and they want to try VR (mostly non-gamers), a few have struggled with Eve. I think one of the barriers of VR to people is the personal variation in what is and isn't comfortable. I am OK with Eve but a few other experiences that people don't struggle with make me feel poorly.

Also, it is true that your VR 'legs' get better the more you play so once you have put a few hours in, give one of them a go.

@themcnoisy Farpoint is my favourite experience with the Aim controller. Unless you hate spiders...

@Rudy_Manchego I used to haye spiders but like them now. They are really predictable in behaviour if you monitor them and it got me over my slight fear a few years ago. I will pick them up now barehanded and put them outside rather than wacking them with the closest long weapon to hand and panicking. The bigger the better really, I do understand why people dont like them though. As if your not ready they will wrap around your face and gestate an alien into your stomache. True story.

Well this thread still seems viable...

Prior experience:
RIGS at PSX about 18 months ago, truly felt like I was there. Can't play the game to save my life though.
HTC Vive Saturday night - Super Hot is not for me. Punched a wall. Can't throw.

Got PSVR today in the mail w/ still unopened demo disc 2 and GT Sport, here's how it's going so far:
Invasion - a quick cute little movie, like Scar from the Ice Age films. Bunny scared me up close.
Last Guardian VR - similar to Invasion but interactive, like visiting an elephant at the zoo. Haven't played TLG yet so can't compare. Fear of heights is real.
Spiderman VR - slow beginning, then picks up and ends abruptly. So. Much. Potential.
Blood Rush - now this is a game. I hate horror and being scared so couldn't fully enjoy it, but I really like haunted house rides and shooting things. Wasn't extremely gorey, looking forward to further levels.
Trackmania Turbo VR - the one that made me nausues. Going from 1st to 3rd person was the worst thing anyone could possibly implement in VR. And steering the car, as it slides from side to side, was even more nauseating. Deleted.
Playroom VR - played on the TV w/ my kid in the headset. Reminded me A LOT of Nintendo Land only w/ a VR headset instead of a Gamepad. (Regular Playroom is pretty cool as well.)

@rjejr Cool - hope you enjoy the PSVR! Rush of Blood was one of my favourite VR experiences, despite like you, not being into horror games (particularly in VR) this was just about the right level of jumpy. I think having guns made a big difference!

I so wish that they would do a full Last Guardian VR game.

@rjejr Welcome aboard!

So I picked up Sprint Vector & to it's credit it works, really, REALLY well.
I would argue it works TOO well.
The effort that I put into it is definitely represented.

The first 20mins or so were pretty fun. Then you start building up a sweat though, cause it really is exhausting!
I actually fell off my chair last night (first time that has happened), at which point I just had to take the headset off cause it was getting too hot under there.

That really was too much immersion for my liking. If I want to get some exercise in, I'll hit up my gym or go for a run around in the park, rather than getting my headset all sweaty!

Cool game though. Really liked the announcer guy.

@Rudy_Manchego "this was just about the right level of jumpy"

I was afraid it would be all disgustingly gory like Silent Hill, that game freaked me out, or like the Saw movies, but it actually wasn't too bad. I'm ok w/ funny slasher zombies, but I don't want any intestines falling in my lap or people oozing puss out of their eye sockets. I'm going to try and make it to the end, but I'm nto shooting any targets, I'm saving all my bullets for the bad guys, so my scores suck.

@Fight_Teza_Fight That sounds like too much work for me. I set up a folding chair, if I have to stand up or move too much I'm probably done. I played 5 minutes of SuperHot on HTC Vive and my heart was racing. I don't want my heart racing, I just want to sit there, look around, and say "cool". Well ok maybe a bit more than that, I'm looking forward to Battlezone and playing RIGS, but more DS4, less Move controllers. Though if they make a Spiderman game I'd move my arms for that a bit, that demo was cool. And Blood Rush had me shooting stuff, shooting I can do w/ Move, but I've always felt that way about Move, even on PS3, they misnamed the controller Move, it should have been called "Point", b/c 90% of the good games used it as a light gun, not a motion controller. I can point well enough w/o working up a sweat.

Well looks like I'm joining this VR party any day now, just ordered the headset with PSVR Worlds and Resi 7. That on top of games I recently bought in sales should mean I've got plenty to start. It's going to be interesting how my first experience with VR since I've not previously had the opportunity to do so but so many have said that the experience is transformative.

@rjejr Don't worry, I ignored the targets and concentrated on blowing those evil clowns away. You have to have the right priorities in life!

@adf86 Nice one - let us know what you think once you have figured all the wires out!

@Rudy_Manchego "let us know what you think once you have figured all the wires out!"

My problem was less the wires and more the 2 USB ports on the PS4. 1 of which has my external HDD, that's a constant necessity, and now the other has the USB from the PSVR, b/c the other 8 cables connected to it somehow weren't enough. My kids still play SKylanders Imaginators and LEgo Diemsnions, but now those 2 portals are unplugged, and I can't charge my constantly dieing DS4s. Not to mention the 2 Move controllers who's battery life isn't what it used to be. I wish Sony would just let their controllers charge on the dozen of phone and tablet chargers I have in my house but none of them work. I've been using my PC as a charger. And my kids haven't asked to play w/ any of their portal games since we got PSVR btu that will come. PS4 is decent size box, it needed more USB ports, 2 on the back for HDD and PSVR, 2 on the front for charging. Hopefully PS5 will have a layout like that. Though it seems like toys-to-life games are dead so that won't be an issue. If the PS5 DS5 controllers can charge anywhere that would help too.

I am very much expecting PSVR 2 to launch alongside PS5 with no extra box, build all that stuff in. Not bundled, but simultaneous. PSVR needs a screen resolution update, but hopefully they'll still let the current PSVR box also work with PS5. Well depending on when PS5 launches, I'm still guessing holiday 2019.

@rjejr Hmmm interesting - I'm able to charge my DS4 using my phone charger though I do that for my spare that I use with my PSTV.

Agree though, everything needs to be charged now which means more and more USB outlets. For the move controllers, I ended up buying a dock for them and a charger second hand from somewhere so I could charge from the wall. I had an issue with the PSVR having to use a USB because I have a toddler who grabs everything. In the end I was fortunate to be able to get trade in and get a PS4 pro because it has additional USB at the back so my daughter wasn't continuall yanking or standing on it. The bigger issue for me is that the VR box doesn't support HDR and also causes my PS4 to blink whenever I start a game for a few second.

I think the PS5 will defo have the splitter box built in and might even be wireless for the VR unit or have an option for it, a bit like the Vive.

@Rudy_Manchego "might even be wireless for the VR unit or have an option for it a bit like the Vive."

The people who's house I was over Saturday playing on the Vive said the optional wireless kit is $400. That's a lot. Vive really needs it though, my wife kept stepping on the wires walking around. I like that PSVR seems to be geared towards being able to play sitting down. At least what I've played so far, so the wires don't bother me. Increased screen resolution is a must though, and I think a given.

When my kids were small I had a big plastic colored fence I got at Toys R US for $40 surrounding the entire TV area. My kids weren't allowed to touch a game disc until they were about 10 or 11. It was mine all mine, and they knew it. Now it's theirs, as long as no one messes w/ my save points. My one son once deleted all of my Super Mario Galaxy save points, that was depressing.

I still don't have a 4k or HDR TV, and I'll probably skip Pro for PS5, so the break-out box doesn't bother me really at all except for the USB port. They really needed at least 1 USB port on the back for either HDD or PSVR. It does take up space, but I just "cut the cord" and traded in my cable TV box - still have internet - so it went there.

My headset finally came today. After spending a lot of time untangling myself from the cables and a lot of calibrations I just chose the star Wars X Wing VR mission as my first VR experience. WOW, OMG WOW, amazing.
One issue I do have is blurriness, is that just the resolution of the headset itself or my eyes? I used the settings which tells camera where your eyes are but there still seem to be blurriness especially in the corners, is this normal?
