Topic: So what multilayer games is everyone buying later in the year so we can set up a couple of events?

I'm pretty intrigued as to find what games everyone is buying later in the year to set up a gaming night. I'm pretty much guaranteed to be buying Wipeout, Tekken and GranTurismo. What are everybody else's plans?

Destiny 2, probably... Can't remember what else in terms of multiplayer... Hellblade and GoW for single player, if they come out

I don't really play multiplayer games but if anybody sets up a regular Gran Turismo lobby then I'll be up for that.

Depends on what gets released and when. Chances are, I will buy Destiny 2 and may buy CoD too. Can't think of anything else that's coming out that I may buy. Probably better to ask after E3 LOL

Destiny 2 for sure, not sure about Tekken and I'm thinking I won't bother with GT unless I go all the way and get a wheel with it too. Bit sick of playing sim racers with a pad

In terms of multiplayer games I have the following

Diablo III
Overwatch
CoD: Black Ops 3
CoD: Modern Warfare Remastered
Rocket League
For Honor
Injustice God's Among Us
Mortal Kombat X

In terms of what I will be buying the only thing I can think of now is CoD 2017, Tekken 7, Injustice 2. However I don't play fighting games online.

I wanted Injustice 2 but with the trailers and the characters they somehow destroyed my initial hype.

I think there's a new micro machines coming out in the summer...

The only game I'll likely play online regularly is Tekken 7. However, I am willing to jump online in other games to play with the community. I did plan on getting Wipeout and Gran Turismo already, but I'm not sure about Destiny.

ive pre-ordered lego undercover, wipeout and wonderboy. That will keep me til destiny2 shows up. Might pick up micro machines also

@KratosMD Maybe because people are unsure that it will actually release this year. At least that's my reason for not mentioning it. I only consider games that have a release date and unlikely to slip - like Destiny and CoD. Personally I wasn't keen on RDR's MP, it really had no 'objective' and literally just goes on and on and on. If or more likely when I get RDR2, I will happily play with the community but its not something I will buy for the MP.

Not a huge MP person but I like the idea of a RDR2 Pushsquare posse (as long as we spell posse correctly - embarrassing mistakes can happen). Yee haw!

@KratosMD Couldn't stand GTA's MP either! I don't like Sandbox MP's with literally no objective other than what you as group decide to do. I don't mind 'Survival' modes but never played the Undead Nightmare one but I really got bored of the MP and there is always some punk who thinks its funny to go rogue, kill your horse...

Like I said, I don't mind jumping in and playing with a few friends now and again but its not something I would be buying RDR2 for and not something I would actively want to jump into - It would not get my vote but if outvoted, I would jump in if that makes sense. Its not my choice but as with anything, its always better with friendsNot sure if I will buy RDR2 on PS4 or not yet - I hear it maybe native 4k on Scorpio - at least that's the rumour at the moment - along with SW:BF2, Forza Motorsport 7 and Crackdown 3. It could be an expensive few months with Destiny 2. Still not sure which platform to buy it for yet - spent MUCH more time on XB1 and a LOT easier to arrange Raids but PS4 has the exclusive content - its expensive to buy it twice - I found that out with Destiny and all the expansions...

Each to their own but I would rather play games like Destiny (and I am not keen on that MP and much prefer co-op) or CoD (MP or Co-op). I don't like 'fighting' games at all and will never buy (or download even if free) these. Not keen on 'racing' games either - at least not Sim style. I don't mind arcade and/or kart racers. I prefer First Person to third person when it comes to shooters but I do enjoy these and generally these are what I play most online. I prefer short 10 min matches and prefer objective style game modes to just the standard TDM.

Basically if I have the game though I will always play with friends regardless...

If RDR2 MP goes the same way GTA's MP went this time around. I can guarantee I will be giving it a wide berth. GTA4 MP was all about having fun and we did in bucket fulls. GTA5 MP is all about grinding cash for overly expensive objects that are only overpriced because R* couldn't bother weeding out cheaters. No thanks. Keep RDR2 MP just the way the last one was or at least think it out and don't go after another cash cow like GTAO has become.

I have to agree with @BAMozzy I can't stand GTA Online for that very reason. I even had some real life friends and I play t together and it always ended in some random jackass shooting us down for no reason a d just being a jerk. I was really excited for GTA Online too but that pretty much killed it for me.

I am glad you are looking forward to RDR2 MP but that's something I will pass.

@KratosMD I was lucky enough to be in that boat also and so I've enjoyed a few years of pretty easy GTAOing but the last year or so has been so bad I have totally stopped buying new stuff. I still play weekly but purely for fun. Im normally constantly in passive stunting or having fun in freeroam. I hate the PvP fest it turned into and ain't shot a bullet in anger in two or so years. If you were unlucky enough to being only starting out tho in GTA5 MP these days I wouldn't last a week before I'd run away for another game. GTAO is just not fun for a beginner. I hope they don't make that mistake with RDR2MP but it will def follow suit as it makes sooo much money for R*.

@ApostateMage great stuff, I'm buying a wheel to go with my set up. Unsure which one just yet, but that's my next big hardware purchase. Then it's game on!
