@Rudy_Manchego: I'm in the same boat with you regards backlog, I've afraid to say how many Vita games I haven't played but own... plenty of games on PS4 to get through as well. My aim is that by next summer I'll have finished what has been an extremely busy year of work, college and school placement teaching so I'll have a lot more time on my hands by then (and hopefully a job with great holidays and weekends off )

One of my biggest Resolutions will be to try to focus a little bit more on my backlog. That's actually probably my biggest one and one I think the majority of us share. I want to try to make a habit of finishing things that I own.. For example, I've finished the Witcher 3's main story, but since I've bought the DLC, then I need to finish it aswell. If it's a game that has expansions that I've not bought, well, screw it.

Another few 'lesser' ones for me would be:

  • Try to stop buying games when I've got too many to play. (Picking one up in a sale or two would be fine).
  • Aim to finish The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's expansions. (Still haven't started Hearts of Stone).
  • Try to make gaming more enjoyable for myself by playing with a few of you lot a bit more. Honestly guys, if you see me playing a game and you'd want someone to chill out with or want another man in your squad or party, the hit me up!
  • This one is quite a high target, but I won't be angry or peeved off if I don't reach it. It's to reach 200 followers on Twitch. (Currently at 85? I think). I've really gotten into streaming lately and have been enjoying it. Even had the likes of @TripleGK; @Anchorsam_9; and even the legend @Quintumply drop into the streams when they've got any spare time. I've been having loads of fun with streaming and once the chat starts flowing, it becomes shed loads of fun!

But yeah, that's what I invision my 2017 looking like. I just hope it is somewhat close to what it'll actually be and not having me sat here this time next year still not having finished The Witcher 3!!

My gaming resolutions are these for 2017...

1.) Beat most of my PS3 and Wii U games in my backlog.
2.) Buy a 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita.
3.) Beat most of my 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita games.
4.) Buy a PS4 Pro during Black Friday 2017.

As for owning a XB1 and Switch, I'll be holding off on buying them until 2018.

I only really have one resolution and that's to catch up on all the games I missed out on this year. Watch Dogs 2, Dark Souls 3, WWE 2K17, Doom, and the Witcher 3 DLCs are all games I haven't managed to play yet.

Oh, and watch more @Kyroki streams

For me mine would be to keep focused on games until I finish them but as the genre I usually play is a rpg that'll be hard haha. Otherwise it's not to build such a big backlog like I've done this year. Another one is trying to utilise all the gaming consoles I've got to the fullest aka actually use my 3DS.

The future is looking great (until you have to save everyone for the 50th time)

I am going to complete Bloodborne if it costs me all of my sanity (and insight).

1. Copy a lot of people before me and buy fewer and play more of the games in my back log. I got quite good at this in 2016 but always room to improve.
2. Buy and play the games I really, really want this year: South Park, Ni No Kuni 2 (if it comes out in 2017) and Crash Bandicoot.
3. Up my platinum count to somewhere in the 50s.

Could be overly ambitious as I'm going to be a first time Dad in March, but I'd like to still make time to get some good gaming in!

I love that we all want to buy less and play games we've already bought - wonder how long we last at that? I've been picking up a lot more from IGC Games recently and really enjoying it so number 1 should be pretty achievable provided there's no stupidly good sales!

Bonus Resolution: Complete the Gen VII Pokédex - I've done it on two older games (HG and Black) so why the hell not.

Start playing my 3DS consistently again so I can get through my backlog on the thing, and not get sucked into and addicted to Rocket League again so I can get through my PS4 backlog, too.

@booshy89: Good luck in March Booshy, I'm sure you'll make a great dad but those platinums.... Hmmm. They will have to wait.

@ToddlerNaruto: 2.) Buy a 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita.
3.) Beat most of my 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita games.
4.) Buy a PS4 Pro during Black Friday 2017.

Skip 2 and move straight onto 4. You can thank me in advance.

@Anchorsam_9: Hopefully you get some good games to review this year bro. Broforce number 1? Omg. Lol.

@Kyroki: One of my resolutions is to game more with you all in 2017, I reckon I will have more time later on in the year and cant wait! Team Pushsquare forum salmon touchers here we go.

I didn't notice this thread until now, I usually don't look under this category often. Great topic though.

1) Probably the most obvious, increase my Final Fantasy collection of video games and try to complete all the ones in the mainline series before 2017 is over (except the MMOs and XII I will be able to buy remastered on PS4 next year, which is perfect timing).

2) Start getting into more JRPG series, more specifically Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts and Fire Emblem. The goal is to play through the majority of the games in the mainline series of these franchises. Also just play more JRPGs in general.

3) Buy a PS2 and/or a PSP and buy more Final Fantasy games for them (lol) or just start collecting more for these systems in general.

These may be rather short-sighted resolutions because I'm planning to start fulfilling them as soon as I get more money in January, so I'm playing it rather safe. But these will obviously take time so I think they're rather fitting. I seriously can't wait though to play more JRPGs in general in 2017!

1) Stop feeling guilty about buying games, when a game is barely more expensive than fast food night for the family.

@themcnoisy: Thanks for the advice, but I still need to also own a 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita. There are exclusives I MUST play.

Besides, I promised myself I wouldn't buy a PS4 until I've beaten most of my PS3 games, and that won't be done until Black Friday 2017 at the earliest...

Rudy_Manchego

@Mega-Gazz: That is a good point and one I need to remember and stress to my wife. I just bought Persona 4 Golden for the Vita for £3.99 and I thought twice about it but then thought 100 potential hours of play for the price of a pint in a normal pub. No contest.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

KratosMD

@ToddlerNaruto: If you want a tip on which console out of those three to start with, I'd recommend going first with the 3DS. If you're gonna be busy finishing games on your PS3, a handheld would be great to go with it so I would narrow the list down to the 3DS and the Vita. But the Vita's exclusives are already starting to get ported to the PS4 (Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Danganronpa 1 and 2, WipEout 2048 and so on) so I wouldn't be in a rush to buy that system. The 3DS however has lots of great exclusives that's not available anywhere which is why I think that would be a good console to start with. As a side note, I think honestly that the 3DS is my favourite Nintendo handheld system ever and has possibly the best exclusives out of all the Nintendo handhelds, so I wouldn't want to miss out on this one.

@Mega-Gazz: @Rudy_Manchego: I think there's something else going on In our heads with this.

As proper gamers, as all 3 of us are - we've got a huge breadth of knowledge and experience in all the various genres and maybe subconsciously we dont want 100-200 games anymore especially games which last for ages, due to time constraints as adults and would prefer to saviour the plethora of are already extensive gaming chronologies and collections. £3.99 is too expensive if you wont play the game.

Obviously P4G is a no brainer though as the best rated vita game.

I look at the promotional sales most days, and I can afford a title or two every time and it would have no impact on my quality of life.

I haunt the sales weekly, but even now with Dishonored and Watch_Dogs 2 both on sale at like 33% and 45% respectively, somehow I've not purchased them still, because I can wait like a year and get them maybe 15$ cheaper.

Sales buying is defo a weakness for me and as part of my new years resolution, I have to answer 1) Will I play it?, 2) do I want it or do i just like the price? 3) Do I have time to play it?

I'm not equating length to value (ooer) but I think that gaming can represent great value for money. I recently jotted up what I used to spend on food and booze a year and then compared to gaming and it was less on games. So while I need to stop buying games I am not going to ever play just because they are cheap, if I see a great game for good value then heck yeah I am going to get it.

My buy of P4G has been on the cards for a while now - I have never been into JRPG or similar games but so many people have recommended it. I have started and am going to try and play for 15/30 mins a day in between other things.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

@Rudy_Manchego: Cool you can start a P4G thread in the vita forum for tips once you start the game. I will be there!
