Topic: PlayStation Character Tournament - We Need Your Help!

Hello everyone!

Going to cut straight to the chase here: we're thinking about hosting a PlayStation character popularity tournament here on Push Square — it's something that we've been mulling over for a long time. The tournament would be presented through a series of weekly articles, with the community voting for which character they want to go through to the next round and eventually win.

It would be in line with the old Who Would Win Wednesday articles that we used to publish. Well done if you remember those.

Now, this would have to be a big tournament, and that's where you forum dwellers come in. We need as many character recommendations as we can get — we need to make sure that we don't miss out on anyone obvious or anyone worthy of a spot.

But before you start throwing names out there, there are a few of ground rules that we need to lay out:

1. Characters must have featured in a PlayStation game (duh).
2. Characters that originated in other media aren't allowed. This includes comic book characters like Batman, and anime characters like Goku. Characters must have first appeared in a video game.
3. We'll likely only be selecting up to a maximum of three characters from any single franchise.

So, if you'd like, please spew your character recommendations into this thread — but try not to spam hundreds of names at once. No one's gonna pick through that.

So I’m assuming the character does not have to be a PlayStation exclusive character, as long as they were “featured in a PlayStation game” (even if it was multi-platform?).

Im gonna pick my 4 personal favourites.

Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza series)
Awkward gangster, a naive twit at times with a heart of gold. But with a burning desire and courage of a lion.

Kanji Satsumi (Persona 4)
Im still unsure on his sexuality, not that it matters. This quick tempered numbskull just needs friends to tap into his life. He loves his mum and is first to jump in when something goes wrong (in his eyes).

Clementine (The Walking Dead)
The daughter youve always wanted. Quiet, timid and really clever. Then the zombies hit and she has to grow up quick. Not one to shirk responsibility, shes been locked in rooms by strangers, almost cooked by cannibals, attacked by rabid dogs and errrr shot her adopted dad.

Auron (Final Fantasy 10)
This goliath of a hero, continually pressing forward. Battle weary but is both honourable and stoic. The link between worlds. You just need to send for him

All 4 of those characters immediately popped into my head above everybody else. Major shouts to the big big characters kratos, ellie, crash etc but for me all 5 of the characters I listed have left a major impression and more than just having a chuckle or quickly thinking about them.

Edit) I originally picked 5 but the other 4 were so good my 5th pick didnt have a chance. Do he got delted.

@KratosMD Yep, still counts. If they've been in a game on a PlayStation platform at any point they can be considered for the tournament (as long as they abide by the other rules, too).
