Topic: Ps4 controller ds4 Lightbar use

Hello all,
I am considering buying a wired pad.
The biggest feature missing is the light bar, so I wondered if anyone could let me know what it's use is?
I can only see it being a health indicator or mood setter.

Also I think I'd miss out on the speaker

Thanks for the help

@mrjelly I mostly just use it to see if people playing PlayStation games on TV shows and films actually have the console turned on or are just twiddling there thumbs and pretending.

@mrjelly It's mostly good for specific uses that you can work around or just not bother with.
I'd say that very few games actually require it, certainly if you aren't using a PS Camera.

I find it useful for auto sign in (the PS4 tracks known faces and matches with the lightbar colour to assign accounts).

Personally, I like being able to see it. I'd probably miss the speaker more.

@mrjelly Nothing imperative unless you have VR which uses it for tracking movement.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Ok so I'll miss out on a few 'cherry's on top' like rumble, and speaker, which are quite nice,
and it won't work with VR/camera?

that right?

thank you
