Hi all, so my ps4 isn't booting properly and I need to reinstall the OS. To do so I have to connect a controller with a USB cable but I've discovered that my controller doesn't output commands via the cable. I've tried with a few cables I know work and tried testing the inputs on my PC but no good, charges fine but no input. I even tried replacing the circuit board with the USB which worked briefly before stopping so I guess maybe it's the main board.
Anyway, seeing as the prompt on the PS4 says I need to push the PS button I was hoping if as long as I used a wired controller with an equivalent button would I be able to make it work? Since I can use my official one to wirelessly I'd rather save some money and get a wired one if that is an option to me.
