I have an answer, but perhaps not complete: I noticed when I took advantage of my wife's Taiwan PSN account that the free games I can get from their store are available for download up to some day, can't remember exactly, the first week of July. So, yes, with that store, at least, the offer is limited. And you needed to have had an account created on or before April 21st, 2011 to qualify.

I meant the offer to download free games not the free games themselves. When does the offer expire?

Yeah, it's insane heavy traffic that is causing issues, and not to mention that there are millions of people constantly downloading tons of huge game downloads on top of it. It will likely be buggy for awhile, but it's understandably so.

Oddly, it was up for me yesterday, but today, I got an error message with a number. Hopefully it picks up again, I wanna try that new Sega Rally game!

Yeah, I'm reading that it's finally up for most of the world. While I'm happy for you all, Sony still missed their own deadline by a couple of days. And there are parts of the world that still haven't been able to connect to PSN in any capacity.

Hackers caused it, but come on Sony, when have hackers ever shut down a commercial website for a month?

EDIT: Before I wrote the above, I had checked, and like always PSN reported service down. But I guess at that time they were working on it, for after writing the above, I've since been able to log in and change password finally. Still can't connect to U.S. PS Store, but that might just be my buggy internet connection... dunno.

Okay, so it's May 31st and shifty Sony is now claiming PSN fully back online (including store) by end of week. Deadline missed!

(And there's still no indication of when ANYTHING will be back up for China, Hong Kong, and S. Korea.)

Now, I'm officially very disappointed.

True, Sony didn't discredit them, but they also didn't start them.

Perhaps this rumor was pervasive enough for Sony to have made a reply, but at what point does Sony have to reply to a rumor? Not all rumors demand official replies.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with the Playstation Store not returning today. I actually thought that those reports that I read on various websites of the store possibly returning today had some credibility since Sony did nothing to discredit them. It got a lot of peoples hopes up, mine included. I really hope that Sony can get the store back online by the end of this month but this time I will not be getting my hopes up.

rumor disproven. Seriously...why does Sony even bother giving these tentative dates? If they'd just left this whole "24th!!!" thing alone, people like me wouldn't have yet another opportunity to be pissed off by a further delay. It just would've been no-change waiting.

Rumour has it the store will be back tomorrow -- PSN is going down for maintenance between 4pm and 12am, which could well result in the store's return.

PSN Store is still down for everyone. It will come up when it comes up.

Also the Welcome Back package rolls out with the relaunch of the store.
