God Of War Fan Gets A Little Too Excited About The Third Instalment, Breaks Hand Trying To Replicate Kratos

Kratos Doesn't Break Bones Because His Body Is Made Of Steel. Fact.

Kratos Doesn't Break Bones Because His Body Is Made From Steel. Fact.

Gizmodo’s just been sent an authentic x-ray from a physician who claims to have treated a broken hand caused by excessive God Of War III excitement.

“I had a patient who was so caught up in playing God of War III that he rolled over his hand with his knee and broke two fingers. The radiograph is attached (with his information omitted and arrows that point to the fractures). First time I’ve seen such an extreme gaming injury.”

Awesome. Here’s hoping Kratos ain’t around to track down this guy. The bad publicity might just piss Sony’s spartan off enough to do some damage. Like set fire to the kid’s dog or something.

Spartans Stand Tall: God Of War III Platinum Reveals Secret Website…

Your Reward For Completing Titan Mode. The Ocean.

Your Reward For Completing Titan Mode. The Ocean.

What’s most bonkers is that people have already earned a Platinum trophy in God Of War III. You people have beaten Titan Mode – really!?! Blimey. Well, whatever. What’s interesting is what happens when you earn said trophy — namely that you get directed to www.spartansstandtall.com.

The website shows the ocean and rain. And not much else. There’s a little shield in the top-right corner, but it doesn’t do anything.

Seriously Sony Santa Monica. You can’t leave a tease like that.

The website kinda makes us think about Vikings, but maybe that’s our imagination.

Press X To Jaaaaaaaaaaaaason!!!1

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaasoooon!

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaasoooon!

Those of you who played Heavy Rain may remember Ethan Mars’ tense-search for his son in a busy shopping mall. The command prompts enthused you press the “X” button – the result? “Jaaaaaaaaaaaasoooon!”

Perhaps on purpose, this Flash game on Heavy.com decides to completely miss the point. Forget the origami killer – this is all about pressing X To “Jason”. Check it out, it’s pretty funny.

The Playstation Move Disconnect – “Twiggy” The PushSquare Opinionator

Rant. Rant. Rant. Rant. (Read).

Rant. Rant. Rant. Rant. (Read).

The message boards know best. Or so they think. The words of a dozen no-name opinionators like myself. Free expression without the need for comprehension. Are you people reading what the journalists are saying about Playstation Move, or just ignoring them? Quicker to go out on a whim I guess. “Shit is shit”. Until someone says that, erm, it’s actually not. Which you might actually hear if you stopped ranting and read what the critics have to say: without being revolutionary many journalists are agreeing – Playstation Move is pretty darn neat.

Sony's PhyreEngine Now Supports PSP Development Aswell As PS3.

Sony’s today an announced an update concerning their free to use middleware application the PhyreEngine. The application, which was first announced in 2008, was originally designed to help smaller developers bring their games to the PS3, and has since found success with Critter Crunch, flower and Shatter. Today’s update brings compatibility to the Playstation Portable aswell as PS3.

“We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community,” SCEI senior VP of technology Teiji Yutaka said. “PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.”

Developers such as Sidhe have already praised the PS3 side of the engine. Here’s hoping this update brings more quality titles to Sony’s handheld. It’ll get demonstrated at this week’s GDC event.
