Modern Warfare 2 Shifts A Whopping 1.23 Million Units In The UK, Breaks Sales Records

Remember When We Said Modern Warfare 2 Was Officially A Pretty Big Deal? Chyeah.
As expected, Modern Warfare 2’s launch was a major deal in the UK. The game sold a whopping 1.23 million units in its first 24 hours or so; absolutely crushing Grand Theft Auto IV’s 631,000 units. The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association described the launch as “interactive entertainment [...] come of age.”
Apparently, Infinity Ward’s shooter grossed £47million in first day sales, a number which is only going to go higher and higher and higher as the year closes out.
It’s pretty crazy stuff to be honest. Honestly, we’ve never seen anything quite like it. Our review goes online tomorrow. Verdict: pretty good.
