I think this is a UK site. That would explain why they don't understand capitalism, competition, free markets, etc. It's not their fault. After WWII their economy was devastated by German attacks and Parliment was forced to implement a socialist model out of necessity. Sadly, they never returned to their former independance. Note: Piggy backing the new BF:BC2 videos at the MW2 launch is taking advantage of an interest in a similar product to promote your own. Ever see 4 gas stations at a busy intersection? Why would build your gas station next to your competition, let alone 3 other competitors???? PS – you can't 'accidentally' purchase BC2 in the store as it's not even released until Q1 of 2010. PSS – I'd be happy to trade you our Obama for your Thatcher. She's twice the man he'll ever be.

Seriously, if I were Activision I'd be expecting competition. I'd be expecting that another distributor would release videos, interviews, etc. Around the release of my game from the same genre. Of I was EA, I'd be all over the release of MW2. I'd want everyone to know that my game was coming out soon and that it was better. That's what happens, isn't it? They compete.

This isn't new. This kind of business has been going on since Nintendo and Sega realized that they were in the market, looking for the same money. An I don't understand what the whining is about. Do you think that Coke should lay off Pepsi? Hey Bud, leave Miller alone? Where's your spirit of competition? Should Chevy and Ford put their differences aside and produce the Camarostang? That would be awful.

I don't think it'll get overlooked at all. I just think there's a time and a place to release this content and now is really not it. Early next month? Sure. If anything I feel like EA are aiding Activision now -- the recently released BF:BC2 trailers could easily be mistaken as Modern Warfare 2 content by the uninformed.

"Really good looking military shooter? Looks awesome. Heard something about that game coming out this week - think I'll buy it."

You know what I mean. I just don't think this is doing Battlefield an advantage. Granted they haven't released too much stuff, but it certainly fills like they're dropping embargoes and what-not to counter MW2's hype a bit, and it's not going to work.

Battlefield: BC2 is going to be a great game in its own right. It's not out until March so it really doesn't need to counter MW2. Just let Activision have their multi-million pound launch because nothing any company does is going to counter it.

Because a follow up to a hit like Battlefield: Bad Company is going to be completely overlooked because they released some videos to counter the launch of Modern Warfare 2. Competition is scary. Ea would be much better served if they just kept quiet. Hell, they shouldn't even have announced BF:BC2 until after Christmas so they wouldn't take any money away from those poor kids at Activision. All this capitalism is spooky and mean, Obama. Make it go away!

Erm? We're just saying like, it's so obvious the way EA are trying to counter Modern Warfare by releasing this Battlefield stuff now. What's the point? They're not going to stop the MW juggernaut — and as a result their excellent content runs the risk of being overlooked.
