Just To Clarify, You Will Only Be Seeing One Sackboy On Screen In LBP PSP.

Just To Clarify, You Will Only Be Seeing One Sackboy On Screen In LBP PSP.

For us, the selling point of LittleBigPlanet PSP is being able to create levels on the move. For some it will probably be participating in multiplayer sessions of LBP while in the garden or something. We’re afraid if your someone looking forward to the latter, LittleBigPlanet PSP will not support online multiplayer.

“It’s the one thing we’ve lost,” said senior producer Mark Green to Eurogamer.

“The system is physically capable of doing multiplayer, but perhaps not with the full physics system. On the technical side of things you lose a third of the processing power or a third of the system memory just to do multiplayer at all. With those limitations we couldn’t achieve it.”

Of course this is disappointing news but Green did go on to clarify that the game will feature full level sharing (ad-hoc/online). Personally, we’re still just as excited about LBP PSP as we were before. Apparently we’re weird for not playing much online LittleBigPlanet, but we honestly didn’t. We’ve read stories of this putting people off the game around the ‘net though. Are you one of those?

They should cap multiplayer at 2. The 2 player puzzles are cleverer too. I think that would make it possible
  • Technically he woont be alone if they include taht hand-held sackboy that's in the PS3 version

No offence taken. I will stick to the Ps3 version in that case.

Here is a petition to the developers:

  • No offence Joseph but this petition is a bit silly. The developer basically states that you can either have the GAME or MULTIPLAYER. You can't have both, the PSP isn't powerful enough. It's physically impossible. If they added multiplayer they'd have to remove the GAME part, presumably leading to a pretty shite MULTIPLAYER experience.

Do you get it? They couldn't do it. It wasn't possible to do it.
