Eidos Is No Longer A Name Associated With Publishing. They're Now Known As Square Enix Europe.

Well Eidos as a publisher now no longer exist. They're being rebranded as Square Enix Europe. The Eidos name will live on as a "developer" title - so the likes of Hitman and Tomb Raider will now be developed by Eidos and published by Square Enix Europe.

It's all part of Square's master plan for world domination apparently. Or perhaps not. Still it's sad to see the rebranding of a once major British publisher.

Sadly the reshuffle will not only affect names but also jobs:
[quote]
"Unfortunately we are expecting some jobs to be impacted directly by this in both Europe and North America. We are hoping to minimise this wherever possible and offer support and advice to any employees directly affected".</blockquote>

Sigh. Oh well, here's to a future with, hopefully, more Tomb Raider games. Published by, erm, Square Enix Europe.
