Zombie Apocalypse – Because The World Needs More Games Featuring Zombies

Zombie Apocalypse Is About The Zombie Apocalypse.

Zombie Apocalypse Is Surprisingly About The Zombie Apocalypse.

Zombie Apocalypse is Konami’s latest nod to the argument that video games are relying on the old fashioned zombie a little too much. Once a rarity in video games, the Resident Evil effect has since decided that virtually every game is worthy of their own seperate zombie section.

Cue Konami’s take on the zombie in Zombie Apocalypse, a PSN shooter akin to Smash TV.  The downloadable title includes seven environments (55 levels in total, which act as days) that are heavily inspired by zombie film masters; Romero, Fulci and Boyle.

The game will feature four playable characters, each capable of wielding 10 different weapons. PSN support will allow for four-player co-op online, no word on whether it will be playable locally too.

It certainly sounds interesting but we can’t help but feel a little burned out on the whole zombie grindhouse lark.

Video games have always used and will always use these perennial fodder to kill: ZOMBIES, NAZIS, and ALIEN, and I will never get tired of killing them as long as games continue to offer new and fun ways of doing it.

Innovation and Orginality are as overvalued in the gaming press as real estate was last year before the collapse. Evolution and Execution is where it's at. If a game delivers on what it promises, it's all good.
