Final Fantasy XIII On XBOX 360 Suffering From Storage Problems

If Japanese Voices Are Meant To Be There, We Want Them There. Capiche?

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has warned that the XBOX 360 version of the game may only have English voiceovers due to a lack of space – the Playstation 3 will be unaffected due to Blu-Ray.

“Obviously, when we talk about XIII it’s for PS3 and Xbox – with PS3 being on Blu ray there would be enough memory, but on Xbox probably not,” said Kitase. “At the moment we’re thinking of releasing the voice in English only. Are there many people who would like to play with Japanese voices?”

We’re just keeping our fingers-crossed that XBOX 360’s limitations won’t hold back Final Fantasy as a final product. Unnecessary cut-backs on the PS3 version would go unforgiven by players.

i understood this statement as meaning neither of the versions were getting Japanese soundtrack. Once again, the PS3 version gets limited and held back because of the Crapbox 3fixme.

I don't think the type of FF players that will be playing the 360 version would mind or even notice that there was no Japanese language option. But should Squeenix decide to also remove the option from the PS3 version that can support it to "level the playing field" in the West they would be in for an almighty s**t storm that could potentionally dent sales of the PS3 version...

At the end of the day, whatever they do, they have shot themselves in the foot with the PS3 release. Many PS3 owners have switched focus to FF vs XIII which is still exclusive, and unless the 360 version of FFXIII is noticably inferior to the PS3 version you will always get PS3 fans crying foul saying it was 'gimped' because of the 360 version...
